Riding Mahomes coattails to a job has not worked out. He needs to be the lone offensive coordinator at another team to prove he has the right stuff.
I think his biggest problem is that he doesn't interview well and instill confidence in his future bosses that he has a vision and the ability to run an organization. Because if he did, he'd have a job. Guys like Lovie Smith, Tony Dungy, and Mike Tomlin know how to command a room and lead a team. So it's not about skin pigment, so the talking heads can just stop with their nonsense.
