THAT is likely part of why he got drafted. The NBA often drafts for potential and he has some upside. That said, it will be about whether or not he can become a more consistent shooter. IF he makes the team now though I don't believe he'll be expected to be a perimeter shooter. He'll be a defensive specialist off the bench would be my guess. He's long, athletic and can handle the ball. He wouldn't have any where near the pressure he had at NU to score.

That would be based on need and proven production. We've got plenty of guys who can handle the ball. What we've lacked at times was scoring from our bigs and Garza can put it in the hole consistently. I won't be surprised to see Garza playing quality minutes for a team this next season. I'm sure the concern with Garza is his lack of quickness but that never stopped Bird. Not saying he'll be the Great Larry but the kid can shoot and works his ass off.

I question whether or not he's strong enough to finish at the rim in the NBA but I really don't think that will be his game. IF he penetrates in the pros I think he'll be expected to find an open perimeter shooter.
