I was always under the assumption that you can't offer a kid during this time and MSU did just that. I may be wrong, but that still kind of rubs me the wrong way. Reading into it a little bit without going in too deep, I see there can be no face to face interaction. Is that the only stipulation? If so what the hell is the purpose of that?

No face to face on or off campus with prospect or parent(s). Can't watch them in person. Can't visit their school. Written and phone communication is allowed.

I've started wondering about facetime or Skype or that sort of thing. Would that be considered "face to face interaction"? Or is that the same as a phone call?

So you can still communicate...

so the coaches are talking to recruits, setting up OV and unOVs for after the dead period, extending new offers after watching senior video highlights, contacting 2017 recruits, etc...

So not really a dead period, just a no in-person contact period... did not know that! Thanks Tim.

I have no idea, my guess is that's considered face to face interaction. Right? Wrong? I don't know. I assume the definition is detailed/outlined in the NCAA recruiting manual. But, it's the NCAA so who knows for sure, ha!
