What is the deal with these three scholarship players? In a new system our only viable option is the Nebraska kid from Grand Island???
WTF!!!!

Guy's need to step up their game in a serious way!

It is a puzzle. They were all pretty well-regarded coming in, even if not world-beaters. you would have thought that one at least would have become the first backup.

Stanton is gone man.

But why leave in the first place? New system with a new coach and you transfer. Do we have all these scholarship players with such fatal flaws that there isn't a viable option besides the Grand Island kid?

Basically yes. Darlington has concussion issues, Bush was a 2-star recruit and Stanton was behind both of them and a walk-on. Our QB position is a wasteland.

I am not following your logic at all. Just the fact there is a new system would lend itself to transfers and players not fitting into the requirements of the new system. Why even question that? Stanton and Darlington played in similar models that were run in the past, Bush was not highly rated or recruited, a 2 * kid. Darlington's health has been in question since high school. Tell me where we are to look for people within the program that can give Tommy a run for his job?

None of those guys could see the field this year with our "questionable" quarterback play this entire season. Fyfe could only get in when TA was injured.

That is all that needs to be said about the current stable of quarterbacks within the program. Winking

After spring ball, Stanton was told to leave by Riley and Langsdorf.

He transferred to Saddleback Junior College where he's led them to a 10-2 record (after starting 0-2) and the Southern California JUCO championship last night.

In his last 4 games: 114-of-171 (66.7%) for 1,335 yards with 10 TDs and zero interceptions. 261 yards rushing and 4 TDs

Yeah, he sucks...

Barney Cotton just offered him at UNLV.

Yep......just goes to show you how far we have fallen off in recruiting.

And the new coach recruited you to go to Oregon St.

All of that is irrelevant and meaningless.

By all accounts he performed poorly in spring practice and then stunk it up in the spring scrimmage. He was clearly #5 or 6 on the depth chart. They told him if he wanted to play this year he was going to have to go somewhere else. I was as big of a JS booster to be found on this board but for whatever reason he stunk last spring. Maybe he was hurt. Maybe his head was in the wrong place. We don't know but what we do know was that he wasn't going to see the field for us and he chose to go somewhere that he could play. Good for him and I wish him great success in the future. We'll see what he does back on a D-1 field. JUCO QB doesn't equal D-1 QB.

I hope they're fighting to get Zach Martin from IWCC, or another juco guy in here. If we're going to be throwing 50% of the time we may as well start getting some passers in here to build up the position depth.
