baseball coach Darin Erstad was named a first-time candidate for the
Baseball Writers' Association of America 2015 Hall of Fame Ballot.
Erstad is one of 35 names on the 2015 ballot.

Erstad played 14
seasons with the Angels, White Sox and Astros....finished sixth in
American League Rookie of the Year voting with the Angels in
1996....Named to two All-Star Games (1998, 2000)....Won three Gold Glove
Awards (2000, 2002, 2004), two as an outfielder and one at first base,
becoming the first player ever to win Gold Glove Awards at multiple
positions.....Finished eighth in 2000 American League MVP Award voting
and also won American League Silver Slugger Award in 2000.....Led
American League with 240 hits in 2000 while scoring 121 runs and
recording 100 RBI.....Hit .355 in 2000.......Stole 20-or-more bases in
five seasons......Led all American League outfielders in putouts in 2002
(452)....In six postseason series with the Angels, hit .339 with 18
runs scored, three home runs and 12 RBIs in 29 games....Member of the
Angels' 2002 World Series winning team.
