Cynthia Sylvan, 53, is wanted on a charge of aggravated battery in connection with the attack
New Orleans investigators are searching for a woman accused of hitting a man with a walking cane and crutches before attacking him with boiling water in the Little Woods area of New Orleans East, according to the NOPD.
Cynthia Sylvan, 53, is wanted on a charge of aggravated battery in connection with the attack, which occurred around midnight Saturday (April 22) in the 7000 block of Bundy Road, police said.
Sylvan threw boiling water on the man, leaving him with severe burns to his head and body, according to investigators.
According to Orleans Parish court records, Sylvan pleaded guilty in December to simple criminal damage to property and domestic abuse, receiving a six-month suspended sentence with six months of inactive probation.
The court did not issue a stay-away order after the victim told the court that he did not wish for one to be issued, court records show.
Anyone with information on the attack or the whereabouts of Cynthia Sylvan is asked to call any Seventh District detective at 504.658.6070 or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111.
