“Former Nebraska point guard and Toronto native Dalano Banton was the first-ever Canadian to be chosen by the Raptors when he was the team’s second-round pick of the 2021 NBA Draft.

“Banton signed a multi-year contract with the Raptors in August 2021, made his NBA debut in October 2021 and spent two seasons with the Raptors, playing in 95 of their 164 games across the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

“Banton then signed a two-year contract with the Boston Celtics in summer 2023, played in 24 games with the eventual NBA champions but was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in February and played in 30 games with Portland. In total, Banton played in 54 games during the 2023-24 season.”
