ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Free agent defensive end Jared Crick has agreed to a two-year deal with the Denver Broncos, where he could be Malik Jackson's primary replacement.

The fifth-year pro started 31 of 32 games for Houston the last two seasons, playing opposite J.J. Watt.

He ranked second among the Texans' defensive linemen during that time with 104 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks and eight pass breakups.

Crick, 26, will compete with Vance Walker and Kenny Anunike for playing time as the Broncos replace Jackson, who left for Jacksonville in free agency.

Crick is familiar with the Broncos scheme. He spent his first two seasons with Broncos coach Gary Kubiak and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips in Houston and three years with Denver D-line coach Bill Kollar.

That's a loss for the Texans and a good pick up by his former coach, Wade. Congrats and good luck.
