Indictment? You mean indication?

Love Tommy's heart, but yes, it absolutely is that he's a 4-year starter. And not only that, he's a 4-year starter at a school that traditionally threw the ball very little prior to 2004. Whose record did he break? One Taylor Martinez, who had the record for the very same reason, he happened to start a lot of games when they happened to throw a lot more.

When you get into things like passer rating, YPC, etc. he doesn't show up on the list.

Passing Season
Attempts: 430; Zac Taylor, 2005 (237 comp.)
Completions: 285; Joe Ganz, 2008 (420 att.)
Completion Percentage (min. 100 att.): 67.86; Joe Ganz, 2008 (420 att., 285 comp.)
Yards: 3,568; Joe Ganz, 2008
Yards Per Game: 274.5; Joe Ganz, 2008 (3,568 yards, 13 games)
Yards Per Attempt (min. 100 att.): 9.75;
Gerry Gdowski,1989 (136 att., 1,326 yards)
Yards Per Completion (min. 50 comp.): 18.68; Gerry Gdowski, 1989 (71 comp., 1,326 yards)
Low Interception Percentage (min. 100 att.): 1.00; Tommie Frazier, 1992 (100 att., 1 INT)
Low Interception Percentage (min. 200 att.): 1.50; Scott Frost, 1996 (200 att., 3 INT)
Touchdowns: 26; Zac Taylor, 2006
Touchdown Percentage (min. 100 att.): 13.97; Gerry Gdowski, 1989 (136 att., 19 TD)
NCAA Rating (min. 100 att.): 177.3; Gerry Gdowski, 1989 (136 att., 71 comp., 2 INT, 1,326 yards, 19 TD)

If Tommy had played at Purdue last year, he most likely would have broken the school record for pass attempts. He finished with 402, school record is 430. Frazier had 163 pass attempts his senior year.

I'm always impressed when somebody puts that kind of effort into a post. Bravo.

Imagine Zac Taylor in this offense with these coaches... IMO, Zac is one of the most underappreciated QB's in Husker history.
I've been saying this for a long time. And I know why he's underappreciated too. Because he had the misfortune(in many people's eyes) of playing for Bill Callahan. Even though nobody will ever admit it out loud, that makes him some kind of lesser Husker to a lot of people. I wonder how many Husker fans know that he's now the Offensive Coordinator at the University of Cincinnati? Very few probably, because his being hired there got almost no attention from our fanbase, because he's underappreciated.

Wow, didn't realize Frost had only 3 pics that year. We didn't pass that much, but still.

Was it accurate that Gdowski's nickname was the great white hope or was that not a thing? Seems like I remember that....luved that guy.

ganz would tear it up with this offense

And throw several games away....People always forget that guy had a penchant for throwing interceptions at the wrong time.

He literally threw the Texas Tech game away.

Tommy has a great opportunity this weekend to alter his legacy

Big time national game

Oregon has a first year starter in their system - a transfer from Montana State who will be playing in front of 90K hostile fans. He hasn't been anywhere near the type of environment he is going to see this Saturday in Lincoln.

If there is one QB Saturday that is going to buckle and piss their pants it should be Oregon's and not our 4 year starter who routinely plays in front of big crowds

TM and Tommy are almost surely #1 and #2 in games started by NU qb's all time, which is a pretty good indicator of Bo's failures recruiting the position at least in terms of numbers. There were no skilled upperclassmen to challenge either one of them.

But at least Bo helped Bubba Starling get his millions from the Royals through his obvious bluff that he might play football for NU. That worked out great for Bubba, not so good for us missing another year of qb recruiting, but even worse for the Royals who can't seem to admit they made a very costly error.

The Polish Pistol IIRC...

I have said for years that Ganz would have set the world ablaze in a Tim Beck offense. I think the same with Riley and Langs. Kid was a flat out gamer.
