Concerns going up against Wisconsin

So do I, but right now they've got a track record of sucking ass since they've taken over.

The regression is staggering. Excuses about getting your own players didn't work with Riley and they shouldn't with Frost, either. He's got his roster and should be doing something different. He should have been on the other side of a couple of those defeats. He needs to win with what he has.

Can’t see us coming within 21 even if game is slowed down with running. I’d honestly be surprised if we score one touchdown. Wisc is top 5 in defense in numerous categories and our qb is vey hesitant and ineffective, the O line below average.

Sagarin has us as a 20.5 dog. That seems more in-line with our recent history versus Wisconsin than I've seen from the sportsbooks. Wisconsin is not really top 5 in defense. Iowa isn't a top 10 defense. Watch the end of the Iowa game. Iowa fans blame Stanley, from what I saw they should blame their coaches. They were under reins until the game got out of reach. Trust your players.

I don't think our players are having fun playing football. Frost and his coaches need to let the uptight attitude go. Football isn't rocket science. Block and tackle. Go beat someone up, and have a good time.

My biggest fear is that the Wisconsin coaches don’t realize it would be almost completely irresponsible of them to have any starters play and risk injury against an opponent of this level, with their big showdown with Minnesota 2 weeks later Those guys really need a week off!

I have no concerns about the Wisconsin game. I have reached the acceptance stage.
Yeah, like he said. In addition to a handful of de-committs after that game and more circle-jerks over a "Plan F" commit with offers from East Dakota State, Northwest Colorado A&M, Southern Iowa College of Agriculture and Kansas School of dumbfukkery. Maybe hearing the word culture again during the post-game presser.

My biggest concern is that we’re probably going to be so beat up after this game that we’re not going to have much left against Maryland and Iowa.

I just hope/pray that they try something completely opposite of what they’ve been doing (maybe a bear 50 look on D) and on offense pull every gimmick play they have. No more of this stupid shit 3rd and 8 zone rpo stretch run play!!

Many on this board are pessimistic because of the fire dumster this football squad has become the past 5 years. Therefore the record itself validates the reason to be pessimistic and also a realist.

It sure hasn't been easy. But people aren't being realistic with some of the crazy stuff being thrown out.

In general I try and surround myself with positive or at least realistic people. I have never been able to understand those that take every opportunity to point out something negative, even if completely irrational. Those people are normally just not happy or positive people and it has nothing to do with how a team they follow is doing.

Everyone is different, but some on here need to just admit they are really negative a not realistic.

Quite frankly, everything is a concern going into Wisconsin. I haven't seen one thing consistent this year that's been good. Some consistent bad, yes.

That said, wouldn't surprise me one ioda if we pull off the upset and get bowl eligible yet. One can dream right

My concern is that the Huskers cover. I hate to say it, but I have been fading the Skers since the OSU game.

Just peeking at a couple of other lines.

Ohio State -52
Northwestern -40

I don't know how either of these two do not cover.

I don’t know much about UMASS but 40 seems like a lot for NW to give with that offense.

what you are going to see is the equivalent of what the old husker teams used to do....tell people we're going the run the ball right at them, and then proceed to do it play after play. You're going to see the backs of husker jerseys getting knocked on their asses.
Such fairweather fans. Did anybody think Illinois would beat them. We fumble twice and threw an interception and still beat them at their place. Hell, lets just

Great fan support guys. You are a joke. You will all forget your nasty comments when Frost turns the tide.

So I guess you’ve been living under a rock since we’ve joined the B10. Wisconsin has been imposing their will (or curb stomping for the millennial generation) against us. They are a very physical team, it’s part of their DNA. We’re a very weak team so there are causes for concerns. I do have a feeling we will pull a Mike Riley Mich St. ‘15 game where we can shock the world.

thats what perturbs me most about the NU pass happy crowd....I would give my right arm to watch a 80's or 90's NU team run right thru wisconson

We'll probably cover, I think we covered one game this year, and everybody who bets football is on Wisconsin.

The lights shine bright in Vegas.

Always a bit risky to predict how a team will play after a bye week - could be focused and motivated, might be flat and error prone. If Wisconsin jumps on the board right away, I could easily see the air come out of the balloon and Nebaska in for a long afternoon. If the Huskers get a couple early stops or a key 1st Half turnover, could be a game.

Based on how they looked after the last bye week, flat and error prone is most likely.

We are just a bad team. Of course there are concerns. This team knows how to lose. We may have been the only team in the nation that could figure out how to lose to Colorado and Purdue after the gifts they gave us.

Wisconsin is a 9-10 game winning team. Barring a miracle don’t get your hopes up. You have to win more plays than you lose. We can only do that for maybe a Q or 2 before we start losing way more plays than we win.

that’s the truth. Let’s hope that changes this week but this is as uphill as you can get
Sadly, the defense knows how to lose without a clue as to how to win. Chinander has never coached a successful defense in his career, and the players know before the snap that the next scheme will suck. Until Frost ditches his stubbornness and hires a nasty, salty defensive coordinator we will be mired in 5,6 and 7 win seasons. Who cares if we just qualify for a bowl every year-can't imagine my tv eyes trained on a thrilling Pinstripe Bowl.

Right now the Pinstripe Bowl sounds pretty good, lol.

UMass could be one of the worst defensive teams ever to play Division 1 football. They are giving up 53+ ppg and in their last 4 they have given up 63 to Army, 63 to Liberty, 56 to Connecticut and 69 to La. Tech.

Wow. Is it too late to get them on the schedule?

Gave up 221 last yr ..I honestly think we do better this yr. Daniels is better than anyone we had last yr. Green has been saved for power run teams is what we have been told. Honas should play alot..I think we are bette prepared for power run. Minny, OSU ran zone which puts more pressure on d lines lateral movement and lb filling lanes(instincts). I think our d line and lb is better suited for teams that try and run it right at us. Im more worried about offense..them turning it over for easy points

No doubt, another one the Huskers missed out on this year was Akron, they have have yet to win this year and also have yet to cover. They also LOST to UMass back on Sept. 28th.
Probably would have got rained out anyway.
