Oregon State has an unreal pitching staff.
Yale is not that great. They have played almost no one. We should be able to beat them.
Holy Cross is the worst team to make any of the regionals. They are not good in any area other than luck. Oregon State will beat them by 10 runs.
I think we beat Yale, lose to Oregon State, beat Yale again, beat Oregon State, lose to Oregon State.

That would be a fabulous regional appearance for us. It would earn us recognition in the polls.

But, honestly, I'm not sure Iowa could beat Yale. And our 4th best pitcher against Oregon St's 3rd best? Oof.

If only we specialized in something on offense. Power, speed, or small ball. We don't excel at any of them. When you need to win a postseason game 2-1/3-2 you have to be able to move base runners without base hits. Texas in their dynasty days were experts at small ball/bunting/hit and run.

This is the best description to date of the current frustration with the Nebraska offense. We're good at hitting singles with humpback liners and hard ground balls. But you have to string at least three of them together to score a run. See Friday's loss to Iowa as the case study.

Wait, are you saying Yale is pretty good?
Nah. but they're good enough to beat Iowa and we didn't. Just saying.

Yale's record (.667) is better than Iowa's (.643) and their SOS 159 is better than Iowa's 172.

My guess is they'd save our 3 to face their 3 and instead pitch someone like Waldron against Yale the 2nd time around.
