So for the last few off seasons, I've been trying to figure out a better system to increase my odds of picking the winning teams/spreads/ou for parlays. In the past I've used data sets and metrics, which found me some success doing 7 or 8 team parlays with a 5 team round robin. This year I want to scale it back a bit.

I've been thinking of identifying 5 or 6 teams, other than Nebraska, to follow during the summer and throughout the season instead of trying to pick the best ones each week. I'd subscribe to their respective message boards to get the fan pulse of what's happening and a clearer picture of what could happen as opposed to just watching the game and relying on strictly statistics. With these, I'd do $10/$20 4 & 5-team parlays to have a better chance of picking a winning parlay. I figure it'd be a $70-$80 per month charge for the subscriptions, so I'd need to hit at least 1.5 parlays a month to cover the costs for summer and the season. I wouldn't want to follow any teams that are expected to win 10 games or more, but those middle of the road teams, like Marshall, Georgia Tech, Wazzu, etc.,.

Do you think it'd be worth it to try for a month or two? How do you go about preparing for the season/what have you found to be helpful?
