Coleman: 4 Games Played, Zero Targets

The qb still has to throw it. That's most of the problem.
Haarberg watched Sims throw picks and he’s afraid to throw a deep 50/50 ball. He wants to see a wide open guy before he pulls the trigger. At this point it looks like Kemp and Fidone are the only guys he trusts.

I saw this on another board.

For everyone saying True Freshmen are producing at WR everywhere else in the county. Coleman was the Seventh highest rated 4-star WR out of HS last year:

Top rated four star WR from 2023 - Hykeem Williams, has just one catch for nine yards this season.

Second highest rated four star WR from 2023 - Brandon Inniss, has no catches this season.

Third highest rated four star WR from 2023 - Makai Lemon, four catches for 13 yards this season.

Fourth highest rated four star WR from 2023 - Jalen Hale, three catches for 68 yards and a score this season.

Fifth highest rated four star WR from 2023 - Carnell Tate, four catches for 75 yards and a score this season.

Sixth highest rated four star WR from 2023 - Noah Rogers, has no catches this season.

He's been open in multiple games. The O line hasn't given the QBs enough time to hit him.

Good info, however
Below are the schools those players attend. I suspect they are competing with slightly more talented players than Alex Bullock and Marcus Washington for playing time

Florida State
Ohio St
USC
Alabama
Ohio state
Ohio St

Sorry those facts are inconvenient for you.

I will try to find a highly-rated WR at lesser schools for you. Here you go:

Ayden Williams, Ole Miss. 3 rec. 66 yards
Cordale Russell, TCU, no catches
Chris Culliver, UNC, no catches
Malik Elzy, Illinois, 3 rec. 28 yards and 1 TD
Omarion Miller, Colorado, no catches
Mikal Harison-Pilot, Houston, no catches

Great post. More evidence that whiny children don’t know what they’re talking about.

Another “betrayal” by Rhule and all that. He must be tanking the program on purpose or just dumber than every casual fan. Those can be the only reasons a true freshman has no catches right?

Headcard, excellent work. How many are behind walk ons on their depth charts?

as expected, the only two on this list who've matched Coleman's zero catches have also played in - wait for it - zero games at Ohiost (Inniss/Rodgers)

they're redshirting

everyone else who's played in games has recorded a stat. Coleman, for some reason, has not. not a single target. I find this puzzling, and suspect many others do, too.

Are those facts or assumptions?

Even if that is true, all those other receivers have between 1 and 4 catches. Those guys are not doing much of anything either. Coleman has been out on routes, and he could easily have a catch or two like the other highly-rated WR recruits. It seems like his lack of production so far is pretty normal.

Miller - 2 games played
Harrison-Pilot - 1 game played

those are facts.

the others you listed of equal pedigree to Coleman are getting the ball. Coleman so far is not despite playing in more or the same amount of games.

forget a catch or two. he's yet to garner a single target.

it's puzzling is all.

it's puzzling.

1 catch, 2 catches, 3 catches. None of them are doing much of anything

After looking at it, and seeing how little all these guys are producing, it doesn't seem puzzling at all.

none of them are also doing literally nothing.

and all are surrounded by better talent in their respective rooms.

it's puzzling.

the receiver with the 10th most yards in all of college football is a true frosh at Hawaii

zero stars out of high school

also worth noting all but 2 of the guys on his list have more than zero catches, and I would bet of those none have played in all 4 of their teams' games like Coleman has

Williams (FSU) - 1 game played, 1 rec, 9 yards
Lemon (USC) - 2 games played, 4 rec, 13 yards
Hale (ALA) - 3 games played, 3 rec, 68 yards, TD
Tate (OhioSt) - 2 games played, 4 rec, 75 yards, TD
Innes/Rodgers (OhioSt) - 0 games played

these put Coleman's 4 games, zero targets, zero carries, zero catches, zero yards into a little better context.

those guys are at big time programs and are getting the ball when they're in the game. our guy is not.

It's puzzling.

except the "evidence" leaves out the fact all have played less games than Coleman, and the only others with zero catches have yet to appear in a single game.

olive branch is still extended, by the way. I think it would be good for your mental health to accept and move forward instead of letting your extremely strong feelings toward me consume you.

(takes a big person to admit when he's wrong like I did with Mickey and Grant. not everyone is capable of such maturity, so I understand if you want to continue spiraling.)

11 different Huskers have catches, including 5 WRs and our starting QB.

we can't throw a single ball his way in 4 games?

nobody's saying he should lead the league in receiving

I'm surprised people are stressing over this. Coleman is a freak athlete with a lot of potential but I don't know that he was a consistently dominant player in h.s. that would be ready to come in and catch a bunch of passes. They brought him out for the first couple of plays Saturday. Which shows to me they are trying to get him involved.

Sounds like Coleman is doing well compared to them then. Rhule actually getting him on the field. You can lead a horse to water.

You saw me admit I was wrong about HH. So by your standards, I’m a big person. Glad to see I live up to your standards. Maybe someday you’ll even live up to mine! 🥹
