Curious if anyone has heard anything about how he's recoverying from his latest injury? And if the new staff has designs for him?

Or with Banker less prone to use nickel, does that decrease the chance we'll ever see CJ reach his touted potential?

Fully healed. Will get work at CB. Will be tough for charles as he has lots of competition. Charles has great work ethic but I don't envision him more than a role player

He played mostly CB this spring, and I think he's in a pretty good battle with Jonathan Rose for the corner spot opposite Davie. Had arthroscopic knee surgery late spring, but reportedly was just clean-up, nothing major and he's full speed already.

He is at safety not corner.

Why do you think he won't be more than a role player? Is it his history with injuries? I have heard he is very talented, and if his work ethic is great as well, what makes you believe he will be a role player only?

Just curious, as I don't really know much about him other than that if he didn't get injured he would have been playing quite a bit already for the huskers...

I agree timnsun. I think if the injury bug doesn't bite him, he is going to be on the field as an impact player. Kid is electric and probably the most athletic person on our team from what I have heard. That is when healthy. Not sure how much the injuries have taken their toll.

I also have to agree with timnsun; but the good issue is there is a lot of open competition. He is very athletic; and so are others - a wild card factor is who can create turnovers. I believe Trai and others are going to jump routes and reflect their coaches well - So now Gerry is getting preseason honors; so competition gets tight for safety playing time.

He is beginning fall camp at safety. A very good tackler, sadly missed last season, also a good cover guy. A versatile DB that could line up at safety, nickle or corner.
