I know Nebraska was basically eliminated when it lost to OSU, but it's crazy to think what would happen if NU won out and Wisconsin lost to Minnesota, and Penn State gets to the Championship Game. If NU beat Penn State, how far would we climb? Obviously Bama & Ohio State would be in, but from there it would become a potential mess...I can only imagine the chaos of the fan bases. Would also be interesting if Clemson lost again in the ACC Title game. There are so many senarios out there...

Nebraska will not make the college football playoff, regardless of any circumstance. Nebraska simply doesn't have the marquee win and has a lot of mediocre wins. Even if you add Iowa and Penn State, those are just all uninspiring wins. The committee values big wins and when Nebraska was on the stage, they came up short vs. Wisconsin and just got blown against Ohio State.

That said, we should hope for a Minnesota win over Wisconsin and to win out because the chance to win a B1G Championship even if against Penn State would be amazing and should result in the team getting a Rose Bowl bid.

best case scenario would be that Penn State loses to Michigan State and we play Ohio State in Big 10 championship and beat them. Would erase the blowout and be a signature win....

If Nebraska and Penn State were to make the B1G CG, I would think that would he a marquee win if Nebraska were to beat a top 10 team in the CG. It would all depend on how high Nebraska was rated before that game. If they are 7 or below, not making into Playoffs. If they want to be ranked that high by then, they better find an offense and steam roll Maryland and Iowa by 50 each. We all know that isnt going to happen.

Trust me, I know we are not getting in, just crazy to think about all of the senarios that could unfold. Nebraska vs. Penn State would not be what anyone wants, but would be awesome.

I also think that the committee looks at how "good" they consider a team to be. Resume matters, but they're also looking at what they see on the field. Nebraska would not be considered given what we've shown thus far.
