What is "AP"? All-purpose?

As good as that first team offense looks, I don't think they would have much success against that first team defense, or second team defense for that matter. good grief, what a roster of talent.

So who wins in a game between the 1st Team Offense and the 2nd Team Defense against the 2nd Team Offense and the 1st Team Defense?

Grant Wistrom is criminally underrated. I cannot stress this enough. He is probably the #1 most prolific player of the modern era for any school in terms of national championships and winning percentage of games he played in. Went undefeated three times. Played major snaps and had a few sacks as a true freshman for the 1994 championship team. Big 8 newcomer of the year as a freshman. Started 1995-1997. Third team all american and all conference as a sophomore. Consensus all american in 1996 and 1997. Defensive conference player of the year in 1996 and 1997. Won the Lombardi award. First Round Pick. Won a Super Bowl, played in another. Suh is on the list above but he's not our greatest Defensive Lineman.

Jason Peter is the same in terms of team success but his individual accolades weren't as crazy as Wistrom's.

Mike, Kris, and Ralph Brown maybe deserve consideration. So many good running backs that Rozier isn't up there. Crouch maybe honorable mention.. but for my money give me the 1997 version of Scott Frost over just about anybody.

Agreed on Wistrom. I think part of the reason that he is somewhat overlooked is because he was just another player in a long line of great d-ends in Lincoln, but he is undoubtedly the best of them, and that says a lot. Basically just starting in the mid 80s:. Neil Smith, Broderick Thomas, Trev Alberts, Dwayne Harris, Jared Tomich, Mike Rucker, Chris Kelsay were all elite level players. That's pretty good company to be in.

Very impressive showing for Nebraska here - nice that Henery was included because he was amazing. It's not often that a kicker is essentially the offensive MVP of a division-winning team and he was that in 2009 (and his biggest and most memorable kick came the year prior). When you factor in that he was a great punter, the guy should be considered kicking royalty. Like everyone else, I thought he would be nails in the League for a very long time.

I feel like Pickering could leave a similar legacy, he's got the moxie.

All of this. Last year, I was watching a bunch of mid 90s games. Wistrom, more often than not, completely dominated. He was way better than I had remembered.

beyond the heisman snub, tommie and crew came dang close to having 3 rings in a row.

if bama or fsu for that matter, had gotten hosed like we did in the ‘94 ob, we’da heard about it on ‘espn’ ad infinitum.
damn that was bs.

For Kickers I recall Steve Little from Arkansas (3rd highest NFL drafted kicker) and Russell Erxlaben of Texas & 1 of the 2 above the former draft wise, kickoffs went through the uprights almost every kickoff in the 70's, both had 67 yard FGs, two weeks apart. both were AA's, Russ 3x. IMO, Russell should at least be 2nd team and Steve on HM list.

Wow, us with 8 positions/players in the Top 2 units, and Oklahoma with only 1.

I never realized Henery was so legendary. Lots of love for the Huskers! But even so, Rozier certainly belongs somewhere on this list. And as for other schools, I can't believe Vince Young is not mentioned.

Surprised Henery is on the list too..

Also surprised OJ Simpson didn’t make honorable mention... Even though he is a P of S..

What about Marcus Allen, the first running-back to rush for over 2000 yards. I’d would have put him instead of Hershel Walker

These players were great their entire careers...Not just one year.

With a couple of exceptions.

Rich Glover should switch with Suh.
