Sorry for delay....had to watch off PVR, but here are my quick thoughts.

1. I know we're losing more games, but I'm just not as embarrassed by these games as our blowouts in previous seasons. These losses definitely suck, but unlike previous years I haven't wanted to walk away from games with a bag on my head.

2. As much as we were told by Riley that he would build the offense to suit the talent he had, either he lied or Langsdorf didn't get the memo. The number of times we were in 2nd and under 5 yards and DL called a pass play was ridiculous. Bottom Line is I think we've seen DL's preferred playcalling demonstrated and it is much better suited to the NFL than to NCAA. I should add that not all run plays are equal. DL kept calling the same plays over and over. Handoff to Newby who would run into the back of our interior OL who were getting handled all day. Why he refused to attack the edges I just don't understand.

3. As much as I'm disappointed by DL (I think we could have won all our games had he alone done a better job), we really have talent issues and those are not going to be solvable quickly. It's not necessary to go player by player, but too many drops, bad decisions, whiffs, EVERYWHERE. So yes, our coaches are making a lot of bad playcalls, but man, the players make all of this so much worse. Last year we had AA and Gregory to bail us out. With those guys gone, we just do not have those kind of playmakers on the roster. Tommy has some of that talent, but his decision making is a huge liability. The fact we have no one close to him in terms of talent on the roster to at least challenge to start is a serious indictment of our previous staff's recruiting and development.

Off to tuck in my kids. Life is too short to stay mad over something like this.

Good luck to the coaches and players this week as they prepare for the next opponent. You don't get better by quitting.

Cheers all, Matthew.
