Not sure how these new guys are going to pan out but the staff is tearing up the portal summin fierce, Gotta believe that the new staff additions are driving some of these player chases.
He finally achieved a half sack last year to add to his profile. I believe that makes him next year’s odds on Heisman favoriteWell Chief Borders is listed as a defensive lineman on his transfer profile now soooo…. Wasn’t he a safety for us?
we need at least one moreWe taking another WR?
Up to 105. We have plenty of spots for these portal guys. The walk-ons will be the mass exodus. With all these transfers it is going to be very interesting to see who will be among the mass exodus of players in order for us to get down to 105.
How many walk ons are currently on our roster?Up to 105. We have plenty of spots for these portal guys. The walk-ons will be the mass exodus.
I think we were carrying in the 140 to 150 range for players. So probably 50 to 75 walk-ons.How many walk ons are currently on our roster?
At present we have 135 players, we have to have at least around 30 walkons. Don’t quote me on this just a guess. How many walk ons are currently on our roster?
Thanks. I assumed we had around that many walk ons, but I was not certain. It is sad, isn't it, to see the walk on tradition die? I think the NCAA is making a mistake with these 105 roster limits. At present we have 135 players, we have to have at least around 30 walkons. Don’t quote me on this just a guess.
Agreed. Especially when these kids pay their own way to school.Thanks. I assumed we had around that many walk ons, but I was not certain. It is sad, isn't it, to see the walk on tradition die? I think the NCAA is making a mistake with these 105 roster limits.
IF we have 135 players, doesn't that mean we have 50 walkons? The old limit was 85 scholarships, right??At present we have 135 players, we have to have at least around 30 walkons. Don’t quote me on this just a guess.
Remember we have added 15 in the portal..IF we have 135 players, doesn't that mean we have 50 walkons? The old limit was 85 scholarships, right??
Yeah, it’s stupid that the NCAA can dictate how many players a team can have. If you are organized enough to manage more players practicing, which is more doable with the larger coaching staffs now, it should be up to each school.Thanks. will be interesting to see what the staff do with Bonner this offseasonWith the 105, we can basically go 4 deep at every position, plus an extra handful on each side of the ball. This is the 4-deep at WR, as I see it now. Am I missing anyone?

Could be off by 1 or 2, but I counted 151 players on the 2024 roster. That means 66 walk-ons.How many walk ons are currently on our roster?
Walk ons or players receiving NIL to cover the costs. Either way it was probably closer to 95 or 100 that were receiving some sort of scholarship or NIL equivalent.Could be off by 1 or 2, but I counted 151 players on the 2024 roster. That means 66 walk-ons.
We are taking alot of CB's, I wonder what the plan is there.
The SEC has already been hurt vs. what it was a few years ago by NIL Now that all colleges can legitimately arrange to pay for players the SEC schools have lost their one-time advantage of paying players under the table.i would not be surprised to see the effect of the 105 limit will be greater parity and a means for mid tier and upper mid tier to accumulate quality players. there has been a flood of great players in the SEC. and all that talent wealth stayed there---now they will move to other conferences and other programs and the higher quality players will supplant lesser. quality of play will improve.
Either way, I think we are well positioned. We have infrastructure and staff designed to handle 150+ players. Now devote all that money and energy into 105.i would not be surprised to see the effect of the 105 limit will be greater parity and a means for mid tier and upper mid tier to accumulate quality players. there has been a flood of great players in the SEC. and all that talent wealth stayed there---now they will move to other conferences and other programs and the higher quality players will supplant lesser. quality of play will improve.
just moving around a lot of deck chairs and paying out lots of money if you ask me.. the quality going into the portal and coming out of the portal is pretty much the same crap as what you had.. only the collectives are paying for this "movement"..
I'm guessing you'd probably get a better return on investment at an Iowa stripclub, although to be fair, you'd also catch an std for your troubles.
