Some just-for-fun predictions. Hope i'm wrong on the less encouraging ones.
- NU wins by 10-14 points.
- We will give up more yards than fans would like to see, and have an angry forum on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
- Mediocre performance from the DL. Tackles for loss coming from Collins and Williams. The rest of the DL, McMullen, Gangwish, Dzuris, Freedom and VV, will each have 1-2 tackles. Pressure will come primarily from Collins and blitzes.
- Big game for our linebackers who, along with Gerry will have the bulk of the tackles.
- We will stifle BYU's running backs, but give up some big plays through the air.
- Taysom Hill will be BYU's leading rusher.
- Decent game for Tommy; 20 to 25 pass attempts, <225 yards, a couple TDs and a pick. Completion percentage will be around 55%.
- RBs by committee, but mainly the Wilbon and Newby show. Yards: Wilbon 144, Newby 89, Armstrong 40, Cross 32, Ozigbo 27, Taylor 12, Nabitty 7, Nelson 6.
- Two takeaways by our secondary. Decent game, but a few mental mistakes leading to big plays for BYU.
- Punting will be the bright spot of our special teams. Foltz will boom some punts and our coverage will be respectable. Newby looks good on KR, Westercamp is okay in PR. Brown will be improved on kickoffs and field goal kicking, but still not what we've been spoiled with in the past.
- Offensive Player of the Game: Wilbon
- Defensive Player of the Game: Gerry with Bando as runner-up.
- Breakout players: Alonzo Moore. Only 3 receptions, but some electrifying grabs and yards after catch. Josh Kalu with one pick and some good break-ups.
- Mr. Reliable: Westercamp. 75 yards on 5 catches, no lost yards or fumbles on punt returns.
