This is silly. I'm guessing you've never participated in research, investigation or frankly learning. This quote - rarely regurgitated in full context - is the most revealing of anyone that makes it. Have a great life, stay safe, but I'm going to use the rivals ignore function.

Snowflake cancels someone else.

What do you do in the medical field? I know you’re not a doctor; otherwise, you would have stated as such.

My wife is a MD, and her expert opinion is that most masks aren’t affective at all...you know those homemade cloth ones.. yep don’t do sh1t. N95s are much more affective at stopping the spread, but still not 100%.

Go ahead and block me now snowflake SJW.

Well it pays us so much more so that way we can upgrade facilities and pay coaches more. So clearly it’s better.
Thats going to come to a screeching halt in 2 years. If you were ABC or FOX, when you go into negotiate the new contract wouldn't you take into account the fact that the games you are supposed to broadcast may just be cancelled? We lost a lot of leverage and credibility this season.

I heard they had an outbreak because instead of end of practice handshakes Wisconsin does end of practice kiss on cheeks. I believe it.

No, it spread because they didn’t cancel their big gay man pile post-practice tradition.

Someone alert the scientists!! Baxter48 has cracked the code! Perfume and cigarette smell breaking through masks, ergo, droplets are making their way through! Halt all mask usage at once!
Masks as worn by the vast majority of people I see in public do little if anything to stop the spread of this virus. When you can see their breath in cold weather billowing out through their gator or cloth mask as they enter the store, you know damned well it isn't doing much. Large droplet spread reduction maybe to some degree. ALL of the studies I have seen on it have indicated maybe at most a 20% reduction in spread by wearing masks. Some seem to indicate no benefit. They're not a panacea.

IMO, most of the infections we're seeing aren't because somebody wasn't wearing a mask. They're because somebody spent too much time in close proximity to someone who was shedding virus. Normally it's a family member, girl friend, boy friend, roommate, co-worker etc. I don't care if you're both wearing masks, if you share work space with a person who is shedding, you're exposed.

Yeah, however your the one offering an 'opinion'.
uh huh, my opinion that keeping distance and practicing good hygiene is safe, and other undeniable facts. Seems to me that in the process of impressing nobody but yourself, you missed the sarcasm in my post.

I get all the negative sentiment toward the conference, but if COVID is running rampant through the team, my guess is that more players have it but aren't testing positive yet (or will have it soo). I'd rather they keep to themselves instead of spreading it to Nebraska and having a domino effect throughout all other teams.

Obviously wish we could play this week, but this is the prudent thing to do.
I think the outrage is more over the fact that Helen Keller could have seen this coming. Waiting so long to start the season was stupid, having no bye weeks was stupid, the B1G protocols are stupid. For a conference that likes to think they are academically elite, they sure are making some ignorant decisions.

Go vote Red. Trump is the only person stopping a socialist Marxist left wing lock down of this country. Show the big tech billionaires they dont run our country and we are not the CCP.
i hope u feel silly if biden wins. because none of your fear mongering will come true. just like white supremacists won't take over the country if trump wins. this administration acts the most similar to the CCP of any administration in my lifetime

as some one that works in healthcare/public health - this is a false statement for those of you that care, or are on the fence regarding this topic.
As someone who sleeps with a Mayo trained pulmonologist treating COVID patients every day I can say that his statement is true. There is a lot of suppression of information going on right now. I believe that masks IF THEY ARE GOOD MASKS WORN CORRECTLY, will probably reduce exposure. NOT PREVENT but REDUCE. There are way too many instances we're seeing now locally where Dr.s and nurses in full PPE with N95 masks, face shields, copius hand sanitizer use etc who are getting COVID. Fortunately no medical staffer that I know has had more than cold symptoms from this. I also believe it is pretty obvious that masks worn by the vast majority of the public right now do little or no good. The masks worn by NFL and college coaching staffs are an absolute joke. They would do nothing even IF they were kept positioned correctly which they rarely are.

Wait, I thought 200,000+ lives would have been saved if we would just follow the revisionist history and also had someone else in charge of this Country. Is that not accurate?

what ever you think will bring value - i'll be sure to share it with our epidemiologist so they can learn of their error in what they are advising our entire medical staff on.
Medical staff use proper face masks not generally available right now to the public AND they are versed in sterile technique so they know how to handle their PPE. Even then, health care professionals are getting COVID in large numbers now. Masks are not an effective barrier against viral particles when in close proximity to a shedder without proper air space ventilation. Ventilation and the duration of time spent in close proximity to a shedder is a large determinant of transmission.

People wear neck gaiters because they make it easier to breathe, i.e. more air coming in. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell you that this means they arent all that effective, but they do make it look like you're being safe.

IF you could lock every single person in the country in their home with absolutely no need to leave AND they have completely separate ventilation systems AND their utilities would continue to work with no human intervention AND they had an endless food supply AND AND AND.....well you get the point. Biden could have shut this virus down in a matter of months IF you could do all of those things...and oh yeah stop illegal entry in to our country. Of course NONE of those things are possible to achieve.

it makes it look like you're following the rules. That is it. Even then they're always down around their neck. Hell even a recorded TV show I watch on motor trend TV isn't able to keep their gators and masks on for more than seconds at a time.

It appears the B1G will not rest until they lose their spot as the 2nd most powerful CFB conference in the US, the ACC is primed to take that over and the other 2 will gladly step in front if we keep doing this pansy sh**.

Thanks for the information. I'm just curious why you think other countries have had numbers that appear lower than the US. South Korea, Japan, New Zealand for example - they hardly had to close down their economies. They certainly live with family members. It's been my understanding that they had a very high acceptance of mask usage that helped. But I'm open to accepting that my premise is wrong. I don't have a horse in this race. I just try to do what I can to help us get back to normal. For the record, no one, I mean NO ONE loves wearing masks. I hate them. But if the scientists tell me that it will help the collective country get back, then I will wear one.

It seems you are very thoughtful and have studied this, which is great - but sadly many, many just have fatigue (we all do) and they let their fatigue shade their opinion and actions.

Its not terribly hard to understand. Masks and social distancing slows the spread. Its literally impossible to stop it, so all we are accomplishing by following those protocols is buying time. That isn't a bad thing at all, but when it is presented as a panacea it undermines the entire premise of why we wanted to slow the spread. We had to make sure that hospitals weren't overwhelmed, and looking at things strategically that is still a good plan but it has to be done locally, not on a national level.

Best guess is that Asian populations already had some immunity, likely due to previous exposure to similar viruses. There is one argument out there that populations that had easier flu seasons the last couple of years have been hit the hardest with this. You can look at countless countries with mask mandates and/or high usage of masks being worn (in some cases both indoors and outdoors) where they appear to have no effect. I wish I had bookmarked the link, but this guy had probably 20 different countries with graphs of their case rates and when they put in mandates and the trend lines just don't change one way or the other when the mandates went into effect.

Doesn't Democrat run Wisconsin have a .mask mandate? How's that working? How's those lock downs working in Europe? Cases spiking and they destroyed their economy. Hmmmm?? Trump has been right all along. Suck it dims!!

unfortunately, trump went along with everyone else instead of sweden. if he had chosen the swedish route (which I agree was basically impossible to do, politically), it would have probably been the all time greatest slap down of the ruling class.

Of course this happens in the year when we have a good chance to beat them

Good chance to beat them? Based on what?

2020 Neb 17 Wisc 45
Ohio St 52 Illini 7

2019 Neb 21
Wisc 37

2018 Neb 24
Wisc 41

2017 Neb 17
Wisc 38

Same guy probably: talks loudly about "all the good things Trump has done for the country."

No way in hell Biden will win as Bannon has stated. The campaign has an army of lawyers ready to descend into MN, WI, PA, NV,Fl, AZ, MI, NC, GA, and OH. Tie up the results in the court until January 20th and then the House votes Trump as the winner. Dem heads would explode and civil war will ensue. Good for us Republicans we have far more guns, 2021 will be a great year as the Dems are exterminated from existence

So let me summarize Nebraska's last three games:
  • Opposing placekicker taunts team, coach and fans after last-second, game-winning field goal.
  • Opposing offense runs hurry-up in the last two minutes to post a run-up-the-score TD with 18 seconds left.
  • Opposing athletic director, a FORMER Husker, cancels a game he didn't have to, presumably because his team didn't want to play without two COVID-positive QBs and a COVID-positive assho ... I mean, head coach.
Yep, we're officially in a doom spiral.

You think Sweden has done the right thing? Based on what? How many epidemiologists have to destroy the herd immunity argument before you goons get wise? Scott Atlas will go down in history. Canada, Germany, France, and many other countries much more effective response. And in what universe is Trump not part of the ruling class? Common sense would indicate that Trump's irresponsible leadership, and total LACK of a Federal response, are directly responsible for the worse Covid numbers and deaths in the world . . . MONTHs after the pandemic started. All time greatest slap down is going to be on Tues.

Reports indicate that 12 people are COVID positive from the rapid testing, 6 players and 6 coaches/personnel. Does the Big 10 require programs to identify which players are positive so that they can make sure that they sit out the allocated time for safety reasons? From reports, only Mertz has tested positive twice, but even that hasn’t been confirmed by UW. Seems to be that the remaining positives also have not been confirmed by the swab test. What if those come back negative? **** Nebraska and full steam ahead for Purdue? No way schools can go forward without releasing all names of those that test positive, IMO. Or cancel games until results of all confirmed swab tests are known.

Players:
- QB Mertz

Coaches/personnel:
