Can we give Langsdorf some credit?

The game against Northwestern was maybe his finest. In the second half in particular, Northwestern had no idea if Nebraska was running or passing and couldn't stop either. Some of the plays (the behind the hip end around to Carter, the reverse to Westy, the designed qb keepers and even the play when Newby fumbled through the end zone) were so well designed I am really liking how he's adapted to Nebraska's skill set.

Say what you want about the desire to run and run only, but this team has such a multi-faceted look, I truly believe they won't be easy to stop.

Our offense is alot of fun to watch. We have so many weapons in both the running and passing game and are so versatile, it must be a nightmare for DC's. Langs also seems to do a great job of adjusting as the game goes on.

my only beef is the Fresno game

we had some big time WR recruits in and completed 6 passes ... I don't think Riley was happy either

Good problems to have.

They've been setting them up in the first half and knocking them down in the second. I really like what they've shown and what they have available on a lot of those offensive packages.

I thought Langs did a nice job last Saturday and agree with the OP. You have to give them credit for how they are working and playing towards Tommy's strengths this year. The last two games in particular, the play calling has been better as well. Keep the foot on the gas pedal. Keep improving.

It helps to have three backs that can play at a high level and multiple receivers that can make clutch plays. Just lots of guys, it's hard for the D just to key on a couple of positions. Tommy, Zig/TNewby/Wilbon, Carter, Westy, Zo, Morgan, DPE and Reilly. As long as Tommy can play within himself and not press too much in the passing game, we can move chains and eat clock when needed on most of the remaining teams on our schedule.

Two way street. Players need to execute, coords need to call plays their guys run well. When both those things happen, it's fun to watch.

Roll that reverse to Westy on replay about 10 times. That was a thing of beauty.

There are eleven guys that all must be on the same page. You dont call plays based on what one can or cannot do. I agree to playing to strength but you they are looked at as the whole, not all individual parts.

I about had a heart attack on the 3rd and 1 in Q4 where Tommy rolled out and hit the receiver(?) for 1st down. Was cursing Langs in the stands for putting me through that.
But its an easy pitch and catch; how timid should one be? Run into a stacked box? But i hear ya; lol - gets ya going. Both teams showed coaches willing to play chess; our players and coaches took the prize.GBR

So calling plays that you know your team runs badly is just as smart as calling plays you know they run well?

I agree. Was really concerned with that call ... I was wtf ...too great play

He is getting better and more to my liking.

He screwed up at the beginning on the 4th quarter by not ringing the ball on the first two positions.

The other one was against Wyoming when he had 1st and goal at the 5 yard line and he rolls TA out and he does the usual by throwing an interception.

I'll give him credit when I see it done to a team with a pulse. Northwestern was simply outmatched in that game..

I did enjoy watching them stick to the run even though Northwestern wasn't giving up the middle much. We didn't panic, kept to it and it helped keep their defense off balance.

Huh? Not ready to give credit but you did like that we kept their defense off balance? Isn't that giving credit?

Well maybe I'll give a little credit but to assume that Langsdorf pulled his head out of the sand because Nebraska beat Northwestern isn't going to happen. Do the same to Wisconsin or Ohio State and I'll be impressed.
