Just looked up Darnay Holmes from the front page article... 5* DB visiting with KJ jr in January.

Sounds like the 2017 class could be the special class. I was sure hoping the 2016 class would be amazing, but I guess recruiting does take some time to form relationships.

I'm not sure if we are in on any other 5* recruits for 2017, but what if we actually ended up with multuple 5* recruits in the 2017 class? How many times have the Huskers done that before? Once in 2005 with Bowman and Lucky according to Rivals from 2002-2015.

Not many 5* players in that span, like 5 or 6 total I think.

Here's to finishing up the 2016 class strong and having a special 2017 class to really be excited for the future again!

Pretty excited about recruiting for the future myself. The Keyshawn Jr recruitment can be huge for us as it sounds like he is very active in peer recruiting.

Johnson Jr. seems to be almost locked in for us, maybe after this visit he will make it official. Gebbia seems to be a lean but Holmes and Hightower are the 2 I have no idea on. We need some corners like Holmes and Hightower could be a monster under Rileys offense. Hopefully Johnson Jr can help pull all these guys in. My early guess is we get KJJ and Gebbia but miss on Holmes and we pull in Hightower in 2018. With a good season next year, maybe we land 5 star Holmes.

5 star guys since Callahan is Marlon Lucky 5 star RB, Zach Bowman 5 star DB (was also a 3 star WR on scout), Andre Johnson 5 star CB, Baker Stienkuhler 5 star OT (some reason we didn't play him where he was his best at) and I believe that's it...if you go a bit later on I THINK DeMorrio Williams was a 5 star LB? We also had a few guys who JUST missed the 5 star ranking in Leon Jackson Ath (coaches screwed his career up), Niles Paul WR, Cortney Grixby CB and Suh, I can't remember if Tyler Moore OT was a 6.0 guy or a 5.9 guy but he was rivals top 100 for sure (5 star is a 6.1 and these guys where 6.0s).

So have had our share if top tier talent, some where good players, some where just average and had a couple who didn't pan out at all. Jackson was screwed over because we bounced him all over the place, RB, WR, CB to Safety and Moore was a bad ass right out if the gate but did something to piss Bo off and never seen the field again and then quite the team. Still sucks about Moore because I believe he would of been a 4 year starter at Tackle for us this year, dude was a beast.

I believe Hightower's dream school is Bama.

Look I want to be as positive as anyone. I think are chances for JR. Are good but a lock it's not.

My way to early and very uneducated guess would be:

KJJ: N
Gebbia: N
Holmes: Stanford
Hightower: Bama

I believe Hightower's dream school is Bama.

BH is quoted as saying that. However, in recent Twitter posts, he's posted a few "roll tides" with 0 likes or RTs. At one point he followed it up with a "GBR" and it the opposite happened. Also, NU was the first to offer. I think, total guess, that Bama and NU are 1a and 1b.

Holmes seems to be a Standord lean. One of his coaches, who played DB for Nebraska, mentioned that Holmes sounded like "Stanford man". Couple this with some other assumptions and you get the guess that he's a Stanford lean.

KJJR is all but a committ. The amount of GBR tweets and visits, etc. is pretty excessive and far more frequent than any other school.

Gebbia is t really giving any indication either way. Some people say he's a NU lean, but he's keeping stuff pretty close to the vest.

These are just my opinions, nothing more.

Saw on KJ jr. he has almost an airbrushed picture of him putting on a husker hat about 19 hours ago. Suppose that is just fuel for the fire? Also I saw he retweeted a post from Jaevon McQuitty with a half high school jersey and half Husker jersey that said GBR!

I believe there is a fan out there that does it for those kids and sends them to them. Not 100% sure, but fairly certain.

One other item of note is the former NU LB Scott Shanle tweeted KJJRbamd told him to commit already. Or something to that affect.

A bit worrisome since that could be a potential recruiting violation.

I think social media has gotten to the point that if tweeting or Facebooking with a recruit is a recruiting violation, then every school in the nation is committing recruiting violations.

that's why I say KJJ is pretty much N, the kid visits us almost every other weekend, seems to love it here and coach Riley and his dad is a big Riley fan. when it comes to KJJ, the only way we don't get him is if we fire Riley, which won't happen and if it does, it won't happen till hes already playing for the Huskers. Holmes I believe is the only up hill battle we have for any of these guys, the other guys are either Husker leans or have us at top with other schools.
