Cable TV ?

I am considering a change in my TV,computer, and land line system now ! I was talking to the Cox cable people about it and noticed lots of people carrying in equipment to return it! I am looking at all options at this point! I know this has been discussed prior but still was wondering why these people were returning all this equipment? I now have ATT unlimited calling, ATT computer hookup, and my daughter gave me a cell phone free! Anyone have a recommendation on how I should approach this? I make a few long distant calls to relatives etc and only use the computer as a social tool not streaming or anything! Any advise would be appreciated! TIA
