Another domino falls... just from the wrong set of dominos. Don't blow this one, Moos...
A&M probably gone, UCLA, Arkansas. Lots of big name schools will be looking soon. Hope NU already has next coach locked up. Gonna be a crazy 2 weeks.
UCLA should but Guerrero isn’t the sharpest guy around and seems fine with an average club, plus Mora is under contract til 2021 I believe with a substantial buyout.
Just because Moos hasn't fired Riley yet doesn't mean he is blowing it.
Something is going behind the seen that none of us are aware of other then a few people out there in the know.

Start the search officially.
Don't accept poor coaching.
I was all in on Riley finishing the year and I still don't know who you put at interim. But it might be time, we need to set ourselves up to compete for the best coach.
Like I said if we don't do it now it better be because Moos feels very confident and a search is in full swing and looking promising.
Two traditionally-strong SEC schools see value in pulling the plug mid-season.
Moos has said that he doesn't like mideason firings because it isn't fair to the players. But how is our current state of limbo helping them? Look how they played yesterday. They know Riley is out. So just do it already
I've predicted after the Penn St game...
My hunch is were going to get beat so bad next week that he will feel the need to put the hammer down.
My strong suspicion is that Riley has been told he is out. And that Moos already has a verbal agreement from his next coach. But Moos has told Riley he can finish the season with his players.
C'mon, do you really think Moos is sitting on the sidelines waiting until he fires Riley? No way in hell.
I sort of get that feeling as well and am hoping it's true.
If not this week, not next week either.
This loss is worse than anything that can happen next week short of 80-0.
Right, these sorts of things move really quickly. While Moos may not have spoken to any coaches directly, he’s speaking with agents, etc. making sure he knows who’s interested, what it would take to get them and when we’d need to move on them. I agree Riley should just be let go, there’s no scenario where he comes back so just do it, but I doubt not firing him today will cost us a shot at anybody.
I truly believe Penn St will beat us like T-Tech did in Cally's first season...
Be a miracle if they even punt next week.

Let me try to explain better.
If Moos feels good about the status of the search and it's in full swing and looking promising or we have our guy, then it's ok to keep him.
But if few have been contacted or reluctant, or if Firing Riley will help us make everything official and compete he better do it.
I really don't know what's going on, or how serious or strong the search is yet. Time to kick it in full force, unless it's already done and over.
I could see firing Riley now if the next coach is someone who is currently unemployed, like Chip Kelly, so he could start recruiting immediately. But most likely it is someone currently coaching, like Frost, who has probably asked Moos to keep their verbal agreement private for the sake of his current team

I would say nothing Penn State does to us could be any worse than what happened yesterday against a bad Minn. team. Penn State is actually pretty good.
That behind-the-scenes discussions, etc don't happen in this business.

The kids are obviously lost in the chaos. Make the announcement and give them a direction to think. They might even play better

If he doesn't do it now after that Minnesota debacle why would he do it after PSU? Don't get me wrong, I want Riley gone ASAP!
I'm hoping the search is over and the contract is waiting to be signed by our new head coach.
