Five things to know about Nebraska heading into the 2016 season
1. Six of Nebraska's seven losses in 2015 came by eight points or fewer, tied for the second-most such defeats in FBS behind Army (7).
2. Only five FBS players have more career yards than quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. (7,999 total yards), who's started 33 games, fifth-most in program history.
3. Wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp has at least one reception in 26 consecutive games.
4. Four of Nebraska's 2016 road games are versus teams that won at least 10 games in 2015: Northwestern (10); Wisconsin (10), Ohio State (12); Iowa (12)
5. With the Foster Farms Bowl victory, Mike Riley joined Bo Pelini (2008), Tom Osborne (1973) and Bob Devaney (1962) as the only Nebraska coaches to win a bowl game in his first season.
