QUARTERBACK: They're getting Tate Martell, so Kellen Mond is OUT. Martell could commit at an Ohio State camp this summer, or it could come at The Opening later in July, but he will be committing to the Buckeyes.
RECEIVER: Trevon Grimes is IN. Bank that. It gets tricky after that, because there might only be room for one more wideout. Tyjon Lindsey is planning on committing to Ohio State this summer, and I believe they will take it.
summer decision from Rivals100 wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey has been rumored for a while now, really since he made his unofficial visit to Ohio State. This evening, Lindsey made things somewhat official by announcing a decision date of August 22nd. Though decision dates are always subject to change, this lines up within the time frame of what we've been hearing for a while now.
This is very, very good news for Ohio State. The spring visit was a home run and we have been reporting a substantial lead for the Buckeyes since that time. I continue to hear nothing but positive things about Ohio State's chances with Lindsey who seems like a perfect fit for Urban Meyer's offense. Meyer and Zach Smith have been pretty relentless here and between the offense, the family ties to Ohio, and the relationships that Lindsey has built both with coaches and current players (Austin Mack and Jonathon Cooper were huge on the visit), this is looking very good for the Buckeyes.
When you also consider that the only official visit that Lindsey has actually said he'll make to this point is Ohio State, I don't think it's too hard to connect the dots, even without some of the background information.
Until further notice, prepare yourselves for some great news for Ohio State on August 22nd.
