I will admit that I was amongst the frustrated and negative during the game but there were bright spots in this game and I need a break from the doom and gloom:
-- Reilly was our player of the game in my eyes. Excellent game stepping up in JW's absence.
-- Ryker played with in himself under trying circumstances. No INTs. Managed his throws. Other than the ugly grounding, pretty much managed to avoid sacks while under constant pressure.
-- Lightbourne had a ROUGH year and yet can say that he ended the year positively and will hopefully not be run out of town on a rail.
--I have nothing on D that I can say stood out as a bright spot. Maybe L.Jackson getting some game experience and having that many tackles.

What were your bright spots for the game?

Ozigbo had some fire in him (unlike some of his team mates) and probably should have had more carries. Also, we now know that holding in the trenches is perfectly legal in the Pac 12 (for which Gates should be very grateful), so we have that for future reference.

Keep that in mind in Eugene next year. At times it looked to me like the officials were as disinterested in being in Nashville and looking forward to just getting this over as anybody.

Sounds bad but that the season is over. We've been handicapped for 8 years now with the inability to throw the ball. The bright side is that Riley will be able to run his style of offense now with QB's who will have the ability to throw down field. Still have ways to go and the way recruiting is looking, I'm not too optimistic that we will reach elite status under Riley.

Bright spots: the team performed better than last year. Next year the frequently mentioned "system" should be in place so we can see what the desired offense will look like.

Looking at our recruit list it seems to me we are competing against Indiana for a lot of the recruits. McQuitty, Roberts, Hampton, D. Thomas and Sichtermann. That can't be good.

Odd you would pick Indiana off their list. McQuiity we beat Michigan for, Roberts we beat Penn State for, but whatever fits your agenda I guess.

You must have more information than I do. On Rivals there is no one listed from Michigan as the recruiter for McQuitty. There is a recruiter listed from Penn State for Roberts (and I was hesitant to include him my group. Maybe I shouldn't have)

Tennessee DE #9 was a bright spot.

Oh, did you mean for us?

Bright spot is that Tennessee did not not even lay a hand on TA. He was never sacked. Great job by our OL.

the big spot is I had tenn in the office pool and might get 600 if usc takes care of business (and iowa, lol)

and that next year we will have passing qb's

if our OL doesnt get a lot better, we're going to have QBs on their backs. Armstrong prob avoided 30 sacks that Lee would not have.

It really wouldnt have mattered who our qb was today. Wish i could have watched instead of listened...did we get any rb or te help on nine? Maybe we did i honestly dont know havent watched yet.
But reiley fyfe oz were def bright spots. And we were down 7 after things were looking horrible...i dont think the team quit and thats expected but important and commendable too.
Defense...yikes. D line sounded lik our best unit although thats not saying much.

No you don't....some things can't be unseen and this performance was one of those things.

Bankers marshmello defense not getting anybody from Tennessee hurt.

If their wide receivers could catch...they would have scored 52 so that is a bright spot in terms of the final score. Winking
