Pointless tourney that disrespected us by making us a 5 seed. I love watching this team, but this is a joke.

We got dealt a bad hand, but you don't quit. Clearly things have changed with how they select teams to the NCAA tournament this year. It's all about scheduling tough road games in the OOC and winning a few of them. Conference play doesn't matter, this is proven by how many teams with sub .500 records in conference made the tourney. We just need to adapt.

Stomp a mud hole in whoever we play and be a little disrespectful along the way. I hope this is how our players feel. It’s like a bowl game that doesn’t mean anything for the season, but brings the right vibe heading into the off season and into next season.

I’m actually hoping to see a Palmer stare down or two.

South Carolina was an NIT team in 2016 before their Final Four run in 2017. Florida was also an NIT team in 2016 and made the Elite 8 in 2017. Clemson, Houston, TCU, and Alabama were all NIT teams last year. I remember Virginia playing in the NIT a few years ago, along with Kentucky.

Not saying that means we'll be in the tournament next year (after all, Iowa was a #1 seed in the NIT last year). But we shouldn't act like we're above the NIT. Our coach has never won a D-I postseason game in any tournament. If we want to prove we can beat decent teams from other conferences, this is our only chance now. Have a good showing in the NIT and with most of the team coming back next year, maybe we'll get some respect going into next season.

We should moan and cry about it, then point to our outstanding history in basketball and our amazing tournament record over the years and ask how dare they?

Or maybe we wake up and realize that maybe we should put up or shut up.

Real moment of clarity for Miles will to inspire here. Needs to make this an "us vs them" mentality and go for it, with a vengeance.
I think just about anyone with a pulse could inspire this team given the circumstances. This team has had a good year. They have a few players with NBA aspirations. The whole team should be mad and motivated. I'm predicting a road win down in Mississippi.

Nebraska - the program with more NIT appearances than any other P5 school - has leveraged an NIT berth into an NCAA berth the following year just one time.

Using this as a stepping stone only works if everyone that is eligible to come back next year actually does.

Let’s hope everyone returns, agree that will be the key for next season.

With all the crying about where the Huskers should be and why there aren’t here or there is getting a bit old. The bottom line in my opinion is that Timmy probably thought he could schedule his way into the Big Dance as in the past there seemed to be a magic number of wins. So...load up on the Sisters of Mercy and get your win total up to where it looks good. Then they get on a bit of a roll and do good in the conference but the schedule comes back to bite them when the metrics for getting into the Big Dance change and those in power start looking at other factors than just a win total.

In the end the Huskers now have a chance to play again and maybe prove some people wrong. If they can not beat this team from Mississippi then maybe the “experts” were right. Go there and beat them and play another team and beat them and then there’s room to say, “I told you so!” If they fall on there face then just maybe the powers-to-be were correct in their analysis of the team.

I get that side of it. Would anyone outside of Nebraska care or take notice? Guessing most don't know who won the NIT last year. (TCU)

As much as I would like to say "Screw the NIT," our basketball history doesn't allow us to say anything. Just go play and don't suck and build momentum for next year.
