Bo Jackson Wishes He Had Never Played Football

I remember the 30 for 30 about him a few years ago. Seems like an odd cat who just sits in room making arrows all day.

One of the first books I ever read as a kid was "Bo Knows Bo" and I remember how much he seemed to dislike football.

If he never plays football and only plays baseball, most people would not remember him. He was a good baseball player but not great. He struck out way too much to be great. However, he was a great football player. His legend is due to football & playing both sports.

You do realize that baseball was basically his hobby and he was an all star. Had he concentrated only on baseball he would have not been really good, but great, maybe hall of fame great.

Actually you can not be more wrong with your statement.

Bo always stated baseball was his job and football was his hobby. The statement actually made a ton of buzz. There were T-shirts, commercials, all kinds of ad campaigns from Nike.

Here's a link from the 1987 NYTimes with the quote http://www.nytimes.com/1987/07/12/sports/bo-jackson-s-new-hobby-football.html

Now Deion, Baseball was more his hobby but he really wasn't a very good Major League ball player. Lots of people state if he had not been Prime-time on the football field, he'd have never made it out of the minors

Don't care what he said, he never spent time training for baseball. You obviously don't know squat about baseball. You either live and train it 365 days of the year or its a hobby. Baseball takes a ton more than athletic ability.

He was actually a really good baseball player.. Ted Williams himself spoke about how Bo and Mickey Mantle had a distinct crack! Of their bat of the purest contact. Did he strike out? Yes. But he was a power hitter with a rifle of an arm

Actually I know a lot about baseball & I don't really need to prove that to you. Apparently you just don't know that much about Bo and are a little butt hurt for being proven wrong.

He never spent time, training for baseball? Here's a video of him training for baseball in 1988.

He never trained for football. His game log is below. It proves he devoted way more time to baseball and would not play football until the baseball season was over.

I am sorry but if you ask Bo, he was 100% a baseball player. Again, am sorry if your too dam butt hurt to see baseball was #1 in Bo's life always. Try reading anything about Bo really and you will know that. Did he work on baseball "November thru January". No, so I guess you have a correct statement in your argument. I guess every one gets one. Did he put on his KC uniform every-day? Yes. Did he put baseball over football? Yes. Every day of his life. Read his book if your that interested. I read it in 3rd grade so it shouldn't be too difficult for you. But my guess is your too butt hurt about it and will say that Bo himself is wrong and your right.

I agree, he was a very good baseball player. He just wasn't the caliber of talent @ baseball he was @ football. I guess what I am saying, is wouldn't have been in Cooperstown @ his pace. Too me he was a poor man's Albert Belle (with a better glove & more speed), who himself isn't in the Hall. That's IMO
