(Not in any particular order. Am also open to adding 2-3 more additions if you feel they merit consideration.
1. Unproven Offensive Line
2. Unproven Defensive Line
3. Unproven Secondary
3A. Uncertainty at Quarterback
4. Wait and see attitude of Special Teams play
5. Inability to win on the road
6. Inability to win more than 2 games in a row
7. Turnovers.
8. Winning 1 or 2 games in the 4th Quarter
9. Jealousy of some players due to NIL dollars received
10 Overcome Scott Frost as head coach

Feel free to just write #1, or #3 or whatever.
Feel free to elaborate WHY you consider your point very important.
With a little more than a week from the opener, I just wanted to see what the overall room thinks.
Feel free to ignore this.
I'm not conducting an actual poll, with a little time it should be apparent from members what are the key issues.

This is my first try at a poll, and it looks like it. ugh Obviously, I managed to screw this up.

That is a good list. I would agree with all of those but would add uncertainty at QB to the list. None of our QB's has proven diddly yet. But in reality ... reason number 10 is the biggest obstacle.

Just added Pennsyhusker. Looks like I screwed up the format. (It's more of an antirowboat thing I guess).
Unless someone can straighten me out and get the poll with the options, since I have lot of time, at the end of each night I will do a physical count and see what that day's consensus seems to be.

So far, the responses are very good.

Hope everyone can find something that causes them concern to share.

Damn that is a list of a sorry program...oh wait...NFM.

focus, self imposed mental errors from players and coaches. in the deed the glory. individually and as a team we just have to stop beating ourselves. who cares if we get whipped by a team that is clearly just better. pride in each play can go along way in getting this program moving in the right direction.

The biggest hurdle this program has had is depth. One of our coaches said it best a week ago along the lines that “depth forces guys to work hard in practice because if they take a day of they lose their job.”

I think we lacked competition at a lot of positions, which wasn’t pushing out starters to stay focused.

think we have more depth this year pretty much across the board (except maybe WR) and this should pay off for us

head coach gets my vote as to the biggest obstacle..
Approaching midnight, and nu2 was nice enough to rescue this poll.

It's currently a 2 horse race with Frost leading the way with 13 votes, and the OL with 11 votes.
None of the other categories are even close to the 2 frontrunners.

Turns out, the poll won't accomplish anything, since most of us felt those 2 are the biggest overall concerns.

The "trick" question I wanted: of overcoming Frost, OR the uncertainty of the OL, which do you think pleasantly surprises us?
Not on the list but I would say depth is a huge concern for me at most positions.
In my weak attempt at conducting a poll, I was limited to only 10 options. In hindsight, there were 3-4 categories that garnered 0 or only 1 vote, so depth could very well have gotten votes had I placed it in the original pool.

I think we will finally be pleasantly surprised by Scott Frost this season.

A few candidates on the list,…
But #1 gets all the love in other threads and seems like less mention here.
I’m a #1 guy if I’m picking from the list.
This season is decided by the OL.
QB play is a very close second.

For those picking #10, I think it applies less this year since he’s only overseeing operations generally and the assistants seem to be driving the ship more than ever.

Even though Frost is supposed to oversee the program as the CEO (lol), I doubt his ego allows it.

If NU is not doing well, Frost will want to interject into more decision making since he suffers loss of job through failure.

If NU is doing well, I think Frost will want to become more involved in order to be credited for any turnaround success.

In the last 5 head coaches at NU, the ONLY coach who is capable of playing CEO and not interfering was Riley.
Solich - NO, Callahan - NO, Pelini - NO, Riley - Yes, Frost - NFW.

I doubt Frost's ego will allow it regardless of the direction of the season. Just my opinion.

Chief concern is the fact that crotch rot is still the Head Corch.

Get all this new TV muneys and give Urbie a blank check. Let him know West Omaha has most of the skanks in his wheelhouse.

NIL has essentially let teams with the most $ level the playing field with recruiting. The illusion that these are "Student-Ath-uh-leets" can finally be put to bed. No need to try selling that Nebby does things the "right way" anymore. Nick Satan has lost his competitive advantage, with the Dodge Charger going Kerplunk.

Note to Nebby: Don't fuch this up by keeping crotch rot around, selling academics and electric Chevy Bolts or Nissan Leafs.

I hope the NCAA dies in a pool of piss and is relegated to regulating sports that belong on "The Ocho".
