Syracuse 72, Nebraska 69
Brianna Butler scored 17 points including the go-ahead bucket with 58.7 seconds left to lift eighth-seeded Syracuse to a 72-69 win over ninth-seeded Syracuse. Syracuse will now face a South Carolina team they lost to 67-63 this past November. Prior to this year, Nebraska had advanced out of the first round of the NCAA Tournament three times in the past four trips. Senior Emily Cady tied a school record with her 132nd career start. The senior matched Lindsey Moore who made 132 starts from 2010 to 2013.

Nebraska was 25-of-58 (43.1%) from the floor, 7-of-21 (33.3%) from the three point line and 12-of-18 (66.7%) at the free throw line. Syracuse was 28-of-69 (40.6%) from the floor, 6-of-21 (28.6%) at the three point line and 10-of-21 (47.6%) at the charity stripe. Syracuse outrebounded Nebraska 42-41. Syracuse only committed eight turnovers in the game while the Huskers committed 19.

Nebraska had three players in double-figures. Emily Cady led the way with 18 points. Freshman Natalie Romeo added 15 while Hailie Sample scored 14. Cady and Brandi Jeffery led the Huskers on the board with nine rebounds apiece.

Syracuse was led by Alexis Peterson who scored 24 points. Cornelia Fondren scored 18 and Brianna Butler 17 in the win for the Orange. Briana Day had nine rebounds for Syracuse.

The Huskers end their season with a record of 21-11.
