Big Ten Hoops

Watching the Iowa-Penn State game (a close one, BTW) and they just showed the Big Ten standings. I didn't realize that both Minnesota and Rutgers were 0-13 in conference. Big showdown between the two next week in Minneapolis. Wonder if there are any tickets available for that epic tilt?

Will Pitino survive at Minnesota? That gets discussed daily on the Minnesota site. My opinion is that he will at least get next year. He is starting 3 freshman and 2 sophomores now and they are playing much better. The two seniors on the team are now playing very little. His recruiting class is rated in the top 25 nationally at this time. There are also 2 transfers sitting out this year that would be starting if eligible. Pressure will be on the next two years to show significant improvement or he will probably be gone.

That's a trend. Me personally, I hope he stays. Nebrasketball needs all the wins they can get in the up and coming seasons.

I 2nd Gopher post...word is his recruiting class next year is saving him this yr from being terminated. I guess one positive is that at least his team is technically NCAA tournament eligible (unlike dad's...).
