Ohio State 34, Indiana 27
A game that was close throughout, Ohio State relied on Ezekiel Elliott to pull the Buckeyes to victory. The junior running scored three long second-half touchdowns on runs of 55, 65 and 75 yards while Eli Apple batted away a pass in the end zone to preserve the win for OSU. The Buckeyes have won 18 straight and 15 in a row on the road, both the longest active streaks in all of FBS football. Ohio State was sloppy and inconsistent, fumbling four times, losing two to help keep Indiana in the game, who played much of the contest with their backup quarterback and running back. Ohio State extended their Big Ten regular season winning streak to 25 straight games. They now wait to see if they can match Oklahoma's record for most weeks (101) at No. 1 in the Associated Press poll. Indiana gambled several times in the game, including a fake punt from their own 16 that backfired, yet the Hoosiers played hard and stayed in the game. Indiana was down to the OSU six yard line in the final minute, but on a third-and-10 as time expired a pass into the end zone was batted away. Ohio State totaled 517 yards in offense (245 pass, 272 rush) and had three turnovers. Indiana gained 402 total yards (226 pass, 176 rush) and did not turn the ball over. Cardale Jones was 18-of-27 for 245 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. Ezekiel Elliott had 23 carries for 274 yards with three TDs and Jalin Marshall had six catches for 110 yards in the win. For Indiana, Nate Sudfeld was 10-of-21 for 134 yards. Zander Diamont had 7 carries for 98 yards and a score and Simmie Cobbs Jr. came up with four catches for 68 yards in the loss.

Michigan State 24, Purdue 21
After the nation's #1 team struggled with an unranked opponent, the nation's #2 ranked team did the same as Michigan State held on for a three point win at home over Purdue. The Spartans held on a fourth down pass play near midfield to seal the win. Michigan State's school record of 12 straight games with at least 30 points scored was snapped. The Spartans led 21-0 at halftime, but Purdue battled back with the chance to tie or take the lead late in the fourth quarter. Connor Cook wasn't great but he did get the win and improved to 28-3 as MSU's starting quarterback, surpassing Kirk Cousins' 27 wins. Michigan State totaled 406 yards on the day (139 pass, 267 rush) and did not turn the ball over. Purdue had 301 total yards (136 pass, 165 rush) and turned the ball over three times. Connor Cook was 13-of-19 for 139 yards with a TD. L.J. Scott rushed 18 times for 146 yards and two scores while teammate Madre London had 17 carries for 97 yards. Cook also added 48 yards rushing. Monty Madaris was the top Spartan receiver with two catches for 47 yards. For Purdue, David Blough was 15-of-31 for 136 yards with a TD and an INT. Markell Jones had 22 carries for 157 yards with 2 TDs on the ground and DeAngelo Yancey had four catches for 68 yards in the loss.

Northwestern 27, Minnesota 0
The Wildcat defense turned in another stellar performance as the No. 16 ranked Northwestern Wildcats shutout Minnesota in Evanston. Northwestern held Minnesota to just 173 total yards and stopped them on all four of their fourth down conversion attempts. Minnesota couldn't get anything going offensively and punted seven times in the contest. Northwestern led 10-0 at the half and built on that in the second half. Northwestern totaled 312 yards in the game (128 pass, 184 rush) and did not turn the ball over. Minnesota's 173 yards came on 99 yards passing and 74 rushing. The Gophers committed two turnovers. Clayton Thorson was 14-of-19 for 128 yards in the win. Justin Jackson had 20 carries for 120 yards and Thorson ran for 24 yards and two scores while Christian Jones had three catches for 38 yards in the win. For Minnesota, Mitch Leidner was 10-of-21 for 72 yards with an INT. Shannon Brooks had 10 carries for 33 yards and K.J. Maye had four catches for 39 yards in the loss.

Iowa 10, Wisconsin 6
Iowa forced four turnovers, led by Desmond King's two interceptions, and beat a ranked opponent for the first time in 10 games in a 10-6 road win over Wisconsin. It was the first time Iowa won without scoring a point in the second half since beating Minnesota 21-16 in 2007. Besides two interceptions, Badger quarterback Joel Stave also lost two fumbles, including one in the fourth quarter on Iowa's 1-yard line. Wisconsin had its 10-game home winning streak snapped and lost for only the eighth time in their last 79 home games dating back to 2004. Wisconsin outgained Iowa in the game 320 yards (234 pass, 86 rush) to 221 yards (77 pass, 144 rush). Wisconsin committed four turnovers and Iowa had two. C.J. Beathard was 9-of-21 for 77 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT in the win. Jordan Canzeri had 26 carries for 125 yards and Matt Vandeberg had six catches for 61 yards to lead the Hawkeyes. For Wisconsin, Joel Stave was 21-of-38 for 234 yards with 2 INT. Taiwan Deal had 15 carries for 59 yards and Dare Ogunbowale had four catches for 43 yards to lead the Badgers in the loss.

Michigan 28, Maryland 0
Desmond Morgan had nine tackles and an interception as part of a Wolverine defense that is really starting to assert itself in the league. Michigan recorded three interceptions in the game and held Maryland to just 105 total yards. It was the second straight shutout for the Wolverines and have allowed a total of 14 points in their last four games. Michigan led just 6-0 at halftime before pulling away with two third quarter touchdowns. Michigan totaled 378 yards on the day (180 pass, 198 rush) and had three turnovers while Maryland totaled 105 yards (76 pass, 29 rush) and also had three turnovers. Jake Rudock was 16-of-32 for 180 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. Drake Johnson had 13 carries for 68 yards and a TD and Jake Butt had four catches for 61 yards in the win. For Maryland, Caleb Rowe was 8-of-27 for 47 yards with 3 INTs. Brandon Ross had 14 carries for 44 yards and Wes Brown totaled two catches for 26 yards in the loss.

Penn State 20, Army 14
Penn State's offense can be explosive, albeit in very small spurts, but the Nittany Lions did just enough to beat Army 20-14. Christian Hackenberg threw for only 156 yards, but 82 of them came on a 3-play, go-ahead third quarter drive. Penn State's top two running backs were out with injuries and as a result, the Nittany Lion offense was largely ineffective for most of the game in a heavy downpour of rain. Army had seven fumbles, and lost three of them, to derail any chances of an upset. Army outgained Penn State 293 yards (261 rush, 32 pass) to 264 yards (156 pass, 108 rush). Army lost the ball three times, Penn State lost none. Christian Hackenberg was 10-of-19 for 156 yards with 1 TD. Nick Scott had 12 carries for 54 yards and a score and Chris Godwin had four catches for 66 yards in the win. For Army, A.J. Schurr was 1-of-1 for 32 yards and was the team's leading rusher with 24 carries for 74 yards and 2 TDs. Edgar Pope had one catch for 32 yards in the loss.

Illinois 14, Nebraska 13
Nebraska led 13-0 in the fourth quarter before Illinois started a comeback to win at home 14-13. Nebraska had the ball with around a minute to play, as Illinois had no timeouts, but elected to throw the ball twice and threw two incompletions which gave the Illini time to get down the field. Illinois, after a long pass play and several pass interference calls in the zone, had repeated chances for Wes Lunt to hit Geronimo Allison and finally found him with ten seconds remaining to give the Illini the game-winning score at 14-13. Nebraska has now lost three games by a total of nine points. This was the first win for Illinois over Nebraska since 1924 and Nebraska's first 2-3 start to a season since 1958. Illinois totaled 382 yards on the day (251 pass, 131 rush) and committed no turnovers. Nebraska had 292 yards (105 pass, 187 rush) with two turnovers. Wes Lunt finished the day going 23-of-45 for 251 yards with 2 TDs. Ke'Shawn Vaughn had 24 carries for 98 yards and Geronimo Allison had eight catches for 91 yards and the game-winning TD for the win. For Nebraska, Tommy Armstrong was 10-of-31 for 105 yards with an INT. Devine Ozigbo had 7 carries for 70 yards and a TD and Cethan Carter was the top receiver with three catches for 63 yards.
