Moving down every week. Purdue is a must sweep series If the post season is a goal.

Amazes me that Illinois has only lost one game in conference and Iowa, not only are they in a solid 2nd they have only lost 3 games and they lost a lot of non conference during the weeks in between.

Iowa has one of the better weekend rotations in the country and a couple excellent relievers. After that, it falls off fairly quickly for the midweek games.

Iowa has shown to be an excellent defensive team and a solid staff overall but inconsistent offense has hurt them at times.

Heller did a podcast a week or so ago. He talked about the number of missed opps they have had all year with guys on base. they have hit into an extraordinary # of DP's and left sooo many guys stranded at 3rd with less than 2 outs. It's just one of those years. An aberration. Un-explainable. I've listened to/followed or watched most of their games and it is astounding those 2 situations they have had.

When you don't have strong offense (like they did last year) and combine that with the items I mentioned above, you are going to struggle mid-week sometimes.
