Nice weekend for my Gophers taking 2 of 3 from #23/15 Missouri State who swept Iowa earlier. Open the B1G season at home against Iowa next weekend.

I may have to reset my evaluation of this Minnesota team. That was an impressive series win at one of the country's top teams.

They darn near swept that series. Lost Friday's game 5-4.

Their pitching and hitting stats are very similar to the Huskers. Team ERA similar, less home runs and a slightly higher batting average. Lots of freshman and sophomores contributing.

Iowa and Michigan state down by 4 and 5 early. Nebraska could take the top spot

When I was at the Big Ten Tourney last May, much of the Gopher team showed up for a few of the Friday and Saturday games. Just had a look of disappointment that they didn't make the field. If I recall correctly, they were a 1/2 game out of 8th place behind NU (NU's last game of the season at Illinois was called due to weather, but NU had the tiebreaker over Minnesota and would have made the 8-team field regardless of the result of that game).

That had to be crushing to host the conference tourney and not make the field. Hopefully that gave them more resolve for this season.
