He is up to his old tricks. Supposedly had his players go after his OL coach who is leaving to go to Georgia for the same position there. BB said he made the players confront the OL coach.
From what I know of his time in Madison and his lack of support and friends, I wonder if he was man enough to talk with his players when he bolted for the Razorbacks.
He said he couldn't keep coaches at UW because of money. Now they are leaving Arkansas. Maybe it isn't the pay but the coach.

Georgia>>>>>>Arkansas

Would still take him over Riley/Pelini though

Probably would too, but it's just too easy to pick on him.

Bielma is Pelini on Roids
Also a very very big drinker. Wisconsin had a Private Car with a driver that would drive him round when he was boozing so he wouldn't get pulled over for DUI. They knew he liked to tip them back and they made sure he wasn't driving so everyone was safe. BB rubbed many of the boosters and administration the wrong way but he did win on the field. Winning seems to cure many wounds and hide many flaws in the eyes of the fans.

Did not know that thanks for sharing.

I still believe that Belima was potentially close to being Bo's replacement, at minimum, hE was at least contacted.

I don't care what HP and/or SE say about MR was the only person "offered." You can say Belima was never "offered" because there were still on going negotiations. The "offer" would come once terms were agreeable on both sides. Sorry but when it comes to attorneys you have to listen very carefully to exactly what they say, because there is usually elements of BS in there.

Belima when he went to Arky a few days after bitch slapping Nebraska came seemingly out of left field. He made it clear to Arky if the story got leaked he wasn't coming.

If you look at the calendar:

Friday November 28, 2014, Nebraska plays Iowa.

Saturday November 29, 2014, Bo is fired.

Thursday December 3, 2014, the first reports that Nebraska is targeting Belima are reported.

Saturday December 5. 2014 MR was hired.

It only makes sense that SE would go after Belima due to their Wisky ties.

FWIW, I heard a guy on the radio say that people at ESPN absolutely believe there were talks between Belima and Nebraska, which I believe, because not only the ties, but the fact that there was plenty of time for contact between SE and Belima and/or his agent (most likely another attorney who is good at word games).

Add to it this article and tweet:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...ielema-offered-nebraska-job-before-mike-riley

Just don't see Gil Brandt putting this out if it weren't true.

So did he not take the job because a report surfaced, or did he simply turn it down?

Either way, as I said before, I think SE and/or HP's claims that only MR was offered is only true if you get clarification as to what their semantics and definitions were.

I still think Belima could work well here, but he could also be a disaster.

Totally believe it. Based on relatives in Wisky accounts of stuff he did up there.

Based upon how he left Wisky and knowing SE's tie to Barry I'm 99.9% positive he was never an option here. Besides using Thursday as the gauge I thought SE called MR on Monday?

There are several things about your timeline that are wrong. First of all, Bo was fired on the morning of Sunday, November 30. Also, December 3 was a Wednesday, not Thursday. Also, the announcement of the hiring of Mike Riley was Thursday, December 4 with the official introduction on Friday, December 5. The final touches on the deal with Riley was being put together on Dec. 3, with the announcement coming late morning on Dec.4. When the story of us targeting Bielema came out, we were already putting together a deal with Riley. Trustful people with inside knowledge have said that Bielema was never targeted. The timeline seems to back that up.

Not a chance he was contacted...and it is because of Red's Wisky ties. There is no way he wanted to deal with Bielema's junk.

Plus, he wasn't reading the right books.

November 30 it was announced. The decision had been made well before then. SE didn't roll out of bed the morning of the 30th and decide that day.

Wednesday/Thursday yep I got the days of the week wrong.

Still dont buy that Belima wasn't targeted, approached, or whatever words the attorney wants to use.

While there are many aspects of the Administration's positions that I do not believe, I do believe the side of it which was that they were looking to hire a different type of personality than Pelini. That criteria would seemingly have eliminated Bielema from the jump. Having just fired Massengil, I do not for a second believe we were contacting Summer's Eve to see if he wanted to leave Arkansas.

Bielema is a disgusting disgrace. If he were hired at Nebraska, there would have needed to have been a massive campaign of organized civil disobedience in protest. He's the absolute worst.

30 years ago it would be like "Yeah, the coach loves boozing it up and having a good time" Now it is like "Oh my gosh, he drinks?"

Tell that to Danny Ford, Houston Nutt and Bobby Petrino, who all had better records in their first 3 seasons than Bielema has.
0 SEC Championships between all of them. Nil
Ford stunk and Nutt got progressively worse. Petrino was likely their only hope to win anything of significance, until he banged a staff member and wrecked his bike.

I cant imagine an exhaustive argument regarding Arkansas football is worth having, but IMO, Bielema is a good coach and would experience success at Nebraska on a higher level than both Mike Riley and Bo put together, but we will see regarding Riley. Its all just speculation anyway.

Yes, it's all just speculation, which is why I will disagree that he would have been some kind of guaranteed success at Nebraska. But frankly, I don't care if he would-I don't want him anywhere near our program.

Bilema took over a train wreck, Petrino's firing set those guys back quite a ways. There is just no possible way you can spin it, he's a good coach with more hardware in the last 5 or 6 seasons than we have in the last what, 17? and he did it at Wisconsin.
