What about the guys that played before there were numbers on jerseys? When do they get their thread?
1921 has numbers, then nothing on 1922-1924, and numbers return in 1925, but just one number on 1926, and back to nost of the roster in 1927.

I'll start it off with three guys who live in Husker Football immortality...

135-lb HB from Stromsburg, Nebraska: George Flippin.
200-lb HB from Blue Springs, Nebraska: All-American Guy Chamberlin.
190-lb Tackle from Superior, Nebraska: Two-Time All-American Ed Weir. Contributed to one of Notre Dame's two losses (both to Nebraska) with the Four Horsemen. Eventually wore #35 on the 1925 roster.

Also, End Clarence Swanson is a College Football Hall of Famer, but more importantly, was the first in a long line of players from the Ruud family: John, Barrett, and Bo, plus Bob Martin. Swanson eventually wore #1 starting in 1921 (the first season jersey numbers are listed on the rosters on Huskers.com).
