Their Title IX coordinator has resigned and punted on signing a confidentiality agreement in exchange for some $$. She's going to go on network news tomorrow and unload on what has been going on there regarding the sex abuse allegations.

Yep. They offered her $50k to keep quiet. She asked for $2M and they denied it. Within minutes she was booked on national TV.

She released a statement that said something to the affect that she'd been stonewalled on trying to fix the issues and was doing this so the women of Baylor can protect themselves.

Apparently, their safety is worth up to $1,999,999.99. After that, they're on their own.

If Penn State didn't get the death penalty, Baylor won't either. But the more that comes out about the stuff that went on (and is continuing going on) makes me think that they should get the axe.

Wow, thanks for the report. So the University lawyers and professionals called her out.
& Loss of donations = 2 million plus
& Loss of future students = 2 million plus
& Misc losses = 5 million plus
& Money professionals earn handling this for the Univ = 3 million plus and residuals.

On a side note, what exactly does a Title IX Coordinator do for a University, count the total number of women on scholarship?

Briles is already a loser for allowing that crap to go on under his watch
To be honest I have not followed all the details of this story. I know Briles was fired, but there can also be scapegoating so I tried not to make a premature judgement. But you sound like you have followed this more closely than I have. So there is good evidence that Briles new about all this crap? Guess so.
He is toast

If reports are true that she was willing to stay quiet for a cool 2mil..... then barf. Everything she's about to say may be true, but she just told all of us she was for sale and would have stayed quiet for the right amount of money, or in other words, she's no better than those she's about to out.

She must know she will make more than that on the circuit!

On the other hand, her ability to earn a living coming from that environment is likely crippled at this point. I'm not saying it's classy to ask for a million as ransom but we also don't know the whole story about what happened in those closed door mediations.

The same girl, Brenda Tracy, that spoke at Nebraska before the season, spoke at Baylor. Apparently, it didn't go over as well with Baylor as it did at Nebraska. Glad we have coaches that can act like human beings. Baylor has issues. I guess the Title IX coordinator was in the room with them while the assistant coach was confronting Brenda Tracy. Interesting that she resigns soon after the incident.

Like the old joke. A guy tells a woman what if I fly you first class around the world, buy you gourmet dinners, shower you with clothes and jewels, all I ask is you are "good to me" along the way. She says, "Yeah, I could probably do that." He then says how about if we eat at McDonalds and get a room at the Days Inn? She says, "What do you think I am?" He says, "I already know what you are, I'm just trying to figure out a price."

She better have her ducks in a row

It's a lot of bureaucratic BS and paperwork. Then pray you don't get caught up in something like this. It's a crappy job and generally you are not well liked on campus. It's worse than being in HR.

Well you know, Baylor had a pretty spotless record before this whole mess. Except for that time when a basketball player murdered his teammate and the coach tried to sweep it under the rug. But other than that...

Art Briles was a great HS coach, 4 state titles, offensive genius and great person. He didn't rape anyone, nor did he tell anyone to rape anyone. He isn't the police nor the DA and a college isn't the judicial or justice system. He is a father surrogate for these 100 or so guys and as such it makes no sense to kick kids off for allegations. I think Briles was unfairly fired at Baylor, IMHO.

Oh and he took a player that was dismissed from another team and school for alleged sexual misconduct. He knew about it and took him anyway.

Joe Paterno didnt rape any little boy's either but his reputation is tarnished because he he knew what was going on at Penn St and didn't do anything to stop it.

The player got a second chance and proved he was a devil. Briles did nothing. Paterno knew for years and had eye witnesses to incidents and the old devil did nothing. These cases are not the same.

Whatever you say.

He is a scum that knew he had players sexually assaulting women then he and his coaches tried to get the women to recant their stories.

There is no reason to bob his knob

Just curious, but what did you think about TO when he was still coaching Nebraska?

Obviously you want to throw in your two cents, so why do you answer the question.

I'm not going to answer your loaded question. But I didn't call Briles a scum, or Tom a saint for that matter. Honestly I don't know enough about either one to have a strong opinion.

If you think any coach at a major school is "clean" you are a fooling yourself.

They usually don't start off with the intent to be dirty...but that is how they end up. Shoot...spend 10 minutes in a high school coaches locker room and you will see where it all starts.

You might want to send them to an all girls school...campus sexual assault is high on all campuses.

Oh so since it goes on at other campuses... why did they fire Paterno? I guess forced sex with little boys is less acceptable than forced sex with young women.

They were probably asking for it huh?

I have been reading up on this story after some of Tuco's comments this morning. Man, if even half this crap is true then Briles is an ass who got what he deserved. The whole thing stinks

What?

You said you would not send your daughter to Baylor because of this...I said sexual assault happens at every college.

I guess you were just asking for a posting beat-down...congrats...you got it.
