Nice to see us ranked. Seems like it's been awhile since we've been ranked this late in the season.

From D1Baseball.com weekly chat:

Comment from Erik:
I know Nebraska's RPI (relatively) is low......but how close are they to a lock?

Aaron Fitt:
Unfortunately no team in the 40s in the RPI can be considered a lock, but obviously we feel great about Nebraska's chances right now -- they are not near the bubble for us. Those two quality series wins against Indiana and Maryland were huge, and the fact that they're sitting atop the conference standings with two winnable series left (home vs. Michigan State, at Penn State) makes me believe that they are going to win the regular-season title, which would pretty much make them a lock, I think.

Comment from JT:
Any chance for a Big Ten regional host? If so, who could it be and how?

Aaron Fitt:
We've had Maryland right in the hunt in recent weeks, but losing back-to-back series against Indiana and (especially) Illinois was a setback. Don't really see another team with a realistic hosting chance, given the RPI realities.

Comment from HuskerHacker:
Hey guys, thanks for the commentary!! Maryland has in the past been the team in the B1G with Michigan slightly behind. If Nebraska holds on, wins the B1G regular season and reaches the B1G championship game, is there a chance they could host a regional? The fan participation will undoubtedly high.

Aaron Fitt:
I just don't see the RPI getting into realistic hosting range. But you're right, it would be great to see a regional back in Lincoln, such a great baseball atmosphere.
