Perfect Game sure loves them some Indiana. Still ranking them and even had them top 10 a couple times. IIRC

The only reason Shitchicken is the top ranked team out of the B1G is because of their showing in the 2019 CWS. This years team isn't even the same team as there are only 3 starters left from that team on this years squad. Imo this will all go away when we kick the livin shit out of them when they come to Lincoln as they aren't even in the same league as us and it will be proven.

Don't even post the USA Today poll. Apparently after a road conference sweep NU deserves less votes than it did last week...

Hey, 31, got time for a question?
Is this team as good as they look? I mean, they look so much different than anything in recent years and so much better but I'm still nervous getting my hopes up. You know, for post season success.

You got an overview you're working with here?

The poll shows "April 19" but it's the exact same poll as last week..........it hasn't been updated yet.

Hey, 31, got time for a question?
Is this team as good as they look? I mean, they look so much different than anything in recent years and so much better but I'm still nervous getting my hopes up. You know, for post season success.

You got an overview you're working with here?

I'm 100% all in on this program. This likely isn't a CWS team, but there's no reason they can't be a Super Regional team (especially if they end up hosting).

This team runs, and runs, and runs. Remember the whole idea of "chaos on the basepaths"? It came a little late but we have it. Don't even get me started on the defense. This team is fundamentally sound at an elite level.

I like the pitching staff. There are still a few roles that need defined, but the lack of midweek games has made that very difficult. Ultimately, in a do or die game, NU can turn any ballgame into a 5 inning contest. If any of the 3 starters leave after 5 with the lead it's pretty damn tough to get through Wynne/Bunz/Schwellenbach.

Last, but certainly not least, these boys can produce runs. Saying they can hit wouldn't be doing this club justice. How many teams around the country would ask a guy to put down a bunt and then watch him go yard in the same game? I love the mix of small ball and power they have shown through the first half of the season.

Bolt is the guy. I wasnt overly enthused by the hire, but I was wrong. He has the perfect mentality to lead this program and has two excellent assistants helping along the way.

For the record, I'm calling for a 7-3 run over the next 10 games which would put us at 25-9 and give us a Regional in Lincoln. After that anything can happen. Go Big Red!

Thanks for the answer, when I asked for an overview, this is what I had hoped for.

Man, is this ever true. We are 36 for 42 in stolen bases (we don't just steal 2nd we also steal 3rd... and home!). Not only is this an extremely high rate of success it's also a huge number of attempts for just 24 games - our opponents are at 10-20 in our games.

Counting all those hits (and we're .305 w/RISP) we are the busiest base running team I've seen in Lincoln since forever. What a joy to watch.

Bolt is the guy. I wasn't overly enthused by the hire, but I was wrong. He has the perfect mentality to lead this program
Bolt is the guy and I'm all in. I can see what he's doing, where he want's to go and it's all good. I see the teaching (Schwelly has credited him with teaching improvement in range and reaching balls he wouldn't have reached before). I see the development (See: Schanaman). I see the recruiting. Nothing not to like.

Thanks again.

D1 now says there best guess is, no B1G team will host.

His colleague......Kendall Rogers, thinks differently

JFK: Since Nebraska isn't in the current Top 25, where do you see them right now? Top 30? Top 40? Just curious as to whether they have a chance at a regional.

Kendall Rogers: JFK -- Nebraska is literally team #26. We were debating taking Oklahoma State out and putting the Huskers in. As for the Huskers -- I tend to think the location/balance will likely give the most worthy Big Ten champion a host site regardless of the RPI. We'll see, though. Nebraska is in very good shape to make the NCAA Tournament.

I really think they will try to spread out the Regional spots this year to limit travel with all of the Covid precautions. Besides Notre Dame and maybe Oregon what non Southern schools will host?
Pitt leaps to mind. Indiana State and Gonzaga might also have good enough resumes but I can’t imagine either hosting if Oregon and Notre Dame do.

Writing this made me think a bit more. If geography is a factor, it seems Notre Dame hosting would work against Michigan doing the same. It would be more sensible for Nebraska to host, say, Creighton, Wichita State and the Summit League champ than to have a second host site smack-dab in the middle of Big 10/MAC/Horizon territory.

Last night's chat, from Kendall:

"I would like to see the conference leader come May 10 get a host site out of the Big Ten. If I was a betting man right now, I’d say Michigan has a solid shot to host — but we will see what happens. RPI is an issue for those teams right now."

Thank Warren for the Big 10 RPI..
So ridiculous not playing mid week games like the other conference are...
