I hope with most of our team coming back and assuming our juniors stick we could be favorites to win the Big10. This year was more of a gift from Minnesota.
Need to get some high quality recruits in here. Does anyone know how many resources are give to Coach E vs. say Riley.
Next year I think we can have a chance to turn the corner and be more consistent

This year isn't over.

There's a good chance NU loses a pretty good core of this team. Miller, Burkamper and Schleppenbach are gone as seniors. Meyers, Alvarado, Hohensee and Schreiber are draft eligible and if drafted would most likely sign as they would hold negotiating power. I think that we have some good young guys, but that's a lot of proven players walking out the door potentially.

Yeah, it would be nice if everyone stayed until graduation. However, if you have talent and you can make a living playing baseball then that is your first career. Many top players get drafted out of high school. Meyers and Alvarado are definitely next level talent. They will go when they want to go. The others? If someone comes calling and "makes you an offer you can't refuse" you take it.

McSteen is eligible as a third-year player, too (redshirt sophomore). Scouts seemed to like him last night.

Nebraska is expected to keep most abs if not all under classmen. Only person I see leaving is McSteen.

Wait, why was this year a gift from Minnesota?

They didn't win any of their two series against teams that made the tournament. They are not as good of a baseball team as Nebraska.

Yeah I don't get that statement either. The better teams on the Huskers' conference schedule were early on, and they held their own against them, Then the schedule got much easier, and NU steadily gained ground in the standings. No real mystery there.

Would have been nice to see NU do better in the conference tournament, but at least they weren't relying on the tourney to get a regional bid. If you can only get one or the other, I'll take the regular season title any day.

I'd love to see 2-3 guys in our lineup that can hit 10-15 hrs in a season. That's the one ingredient that has been consistently missing since the VanHorn years. (I realize bats made a difference but it's all relative)

Bahahaha that wouldn't be Erstad ball. Gotta play small ball. To see Iowas big fella bet meaty 30 this year by himself should tell Erstad it's nice to have someone be able to change a game with one swing of the bat. Yes I know any at bat can do that but I'd take that kid over any Nebraska hitter this year.

Adams can flat out hit. He is not an easy out. He hits all over the place. He just has power.
