I'm breaking my self-imposed posting ban to alert everyone to Sparky's new product. I was lucky enough to sample this a number of times as our very own Fire Captain Sparky put it through the development stage. After lots of work he has it ready to sell. You can order it from his website (I just got my gallon in the mail) or request it at your local Hy-Vee. It's an awesome balance or flavor and heat. We are going through it like water with my family. FYI.

Still need to try it. In the meantime, love me some Gator Sauce and Tapatio.

Bump, cause I just found the Fire at the Hyvees at 50th and O inLincoln. It's as good as advertised @sparky62 kind of a slow build heat. Everyone do yourself a favor and pick up a jar.

I lived in KC for 10 years, so to me, I've tasted the best that BBQ has to offer. Gates is my favorite. But...I will give Sparky's a try.

How does it compare to Gates in terms of taste? Gates has a slight vinegary taste to it, which I absolutely love. I'm not into sweeter tasting BBQ sauces. They have to have a sweet and sour quality to them for me to buy in.

Arthur Bryant's is good, but has a gritty texture to it that bothers me. KC Masterpiece is fairly generic, and too sweet overall. Jack's Stack is pretty good. I can't remember enough about Oklahoma Joe's to say one way or the other.

Both sauces have a little heat but "Fire" has more & the flavors pop out a little bit(from what I've been told). Goes great on pork, fish, chicken & fish. IMO it's hard to explain.
