How soon before we start to hear about some of Rhule’s assistant coaches choices??

IDK, let's get through Monday's press conference first. Do all you people have A.D.D?
I was just curious on when that usually happens… I realize they haven’t held the press conference but also know that Dec 5th is fast approaching and just wondered what the timeline usually is

All situations are unique as some of his potential staff have seasons to finish. I don't think there's much precedent for hiring timelines.

Here are some of the Matt Rhule coaching staff predictions. These are educated guesses. In many cases these are guys that have been with Rhule since the Temple years:

OC/QBs: Glenn Thomas
DC/Safeties: Phil Snow
Linebackers/ST: Mike Siravo
Co-OC/Running Backs: Jeff Nixon (Will’s father) or Applewhite retained
Defensive Line: Elijah Robinson or Frank Okam
Cornerbacks: Evan Cooper

My gut is that Mickey Joseph will be retained if he wishes. Another possible WR coach might be Joe Dailey.

Strength and Conditioning: Jeremy Scott

If you could take away the 17 years of military/combat service from my head, I could share my xanies with ya..😉😂
Thank you for your service. Find me at one of next year's tailgate and I'll provide you something to wash away the thoughts, if only for a couple hours.

It could be a couple of months before the staff is complete. Some depends on how many of the current staff are asked to stick around. A lot of moving parts especially for the coordinators.
Lots of moving parts. Some potential assistant coaches may want to finish out their season. With Dec 5 fast approaching.....you would think a few asst coaches would need to be retained short term to get thru the transition.

That said....if MR already knows he is not going to retain specific coaches....let them go ASAP so they can seek other opportunities.

Good guesses, he will want to surround himself with coaches he knows and trusts. Rhule has the vision, they will help to implement it.

That’s a good point. With the transfer portal opening up soon and with the early signing period, it may make a lot of sense to retain a couple coaches (even more than it used to).

Coaches from the current staff I would like to retain (but I won’t be hurt if they don’t):

-Mickey
-Busch (any role, really)
-Applewhite

Coaches I would be alright with keeping, but am not sure if I would like to keep:

-Dawson
-Fischer
-
-
-
-maybe Rudd

Everyone else, no thanks.

Is Applewhite in charge of trotting Grant out there over and over racking up the TFL?

Boy I need to follow things closer. I was hoping maybe Joe Brady for OC due to connections to Mickey and Rhule but that blood appears to be bad.

I have no issues with Beckton. I would have liked more production from, and more imaginative use of our TEs but I'm not sure if that due to lack of talent, lack of development or both. I think Beckton has solid recruiting ties to GA, and would sure hate to lose that.

He has done a pretty good job. I forgot about him.

Everyone on the bottom half of your list can get the hell out. The only one I'd be on the fence about is the TE coach. Applewhite is a no, Busch is a maybe for me. Mickey can stay as receivers coach.

Beckton is better than all but Busch and Mickey, however, Ruhle doesn't really use much TE

Oh boy, for me Busch is the #1 priority that we MUCH keep with us. Mickey as a high ranked #2 keep.

What makes you say that? I think Beckton has been fine. But Mickeys WR went from poor to quality. And Busch brought in two starting specialists and took the defense from pathetic to serviceable mid-season.

You did see that I stated Beckton was better than all BUT Busch and Mickey, correct?

Seriously. it is quite apparent that Matt was the 4th or 5th choice. I dont give a rats ass of what 8-16 ( over 2 years) assistant coaches he keeps.
Actually Trev was quite adamant with Rhule as his first choice. Which I don't understand as there were better options out there, but that's who Trev picked.

I wonder if there's any chance that Rhule announces an assistant or two at Monday's presser?

Retaining MJ as WR coach I guess would be the most likely announcement. MR is certainly going to need immediate help in recruiting.

This is simply AD-speak. Yes, better candidates were avail. and willing to take the job but Trev landed on Rhule due to his proven track record of turning programs around. Time will tell if Rhule will get it done. Most people thought Frost was a can't miss guy either but that didn't work out. Nothing is guaranteed...except Urban Meyer and probably Jim Tressel

Meh, the TE dropped a lot of balls.

We were on Rhule before Carolina let him go. His name had the most smoke connected to it from the beginning. Trev’s firm did the leg work on all the options but Rhule was the obvious choice from the beginning.
