Assault Rifles. Thoughts?

That idea is perverse as ****. Sure, turn schools into places that need armed guards. THAT makes sense.
How’s the gun free concept working out?

When you put a gun in a person’s possession, it does not turn into a Quinten Tarantino movie. Every year the NRA hosts the largest gathering of armed people in the US and I have yet to hear of a shootout amongst them, let alone any shooter trying try a mass shooting at their event.

That is exactly what the politicians advocating gun control are doing with their children - sending them to armed schools.

Lol, if that's the best you guys have, that's actually great news.

Hopefully things start changing soon. Nobody wants all of these ****ing shootings.

There's no "turning them in to", they already are. An area Christian high school that I've been to has an armed security guard at their front door to prevent a radical extremist (you can guess what religion) from walking in the front door with an explosive vest OR gun. You have to show ID and prove that you're supposed to be there. This is in a relatively small city in South Dakota. My local public school has gone to school day lock downs as has the Christian school that meets at my church. That isn't just because of guns. It's because anybody with bad intent can use a machete, gun, pipe bomb or whatever to inflict death and destruction regardless of any government policy on guns.

Those stats they use are cherry picked statistics that should never be taken seriously..
All we have to do is look at Chicago for what some politicians want to do "for" our country. There are no easy answers to our violence issues in this country. Personally I would start by outlawing violent video games. They've become to realistic and de-sensitize kids to violence. When every day of your life you play a game where you're rewarded for kills and spreading mayhem......well. What do we expect?

That has been proven to have little to no effect on people.

Your argument about "Well they'll just use something else" is also manifestly untrue.

The idea that a small Christian school in South Dakota is scared of radical Islamists bombing them is also ****ing stupid.

Anything else? Man, I really like this football team.

So guns have been around since the beginning of the country and the AR 15 since 1959, yet mass shootings start rapidly accelerating in 2000 and beyond? So what changed?

You mean just like that Amish school didn't need to be concerned about their safety? There are nuts everywhere. Just because you say it isn't true doesn't make it so chief. That's your opinion unsupported by facts.

It's always the "video games" and not the high powered guns that are easily accessible.

This is just my opinion, if you take a look at the mass shootings most are done by teenagers or early 20’s expect the Vegas one. The biggest issue is these young people today have no respect for life!!! They don’t have that little voice telling them don’t do it, and the little voice is their conscience. And I personally believe it’s the lack of God in there life. Back when I went to school, most of us guys and even a few girls would carry a shotgun in there vehicle and do some hunting before and after school. And I can guarantee none of us ever thought of shoot up a school or going to a nearby town and shoot up there days or festival. Most people need to realize the the second amendment protects the first one. Look at Russia and Nazi Germany they confiscated guns, the government had their slaves. And Nazi isn’t something right wing it National socialist German workers party. Sorry if I made it religious and political, I just wanted to give my two cents

I’m surprised the mods haven’t locked this treads. I have a feeling it’s going to get really political fast after the tragedy this afternoon

Around 40000 people are killed by guns through homicide or suicide in America every year. That means every decade approximately the same amount of Americans are killed by guns than died in World War II. And in the midst of all of this carnage, only about 25 people on average are killed in American schools, by guns. So American schools are some of the safest places to be in terms of being shot, especially considering the amount of mental health issues and population density in some of these schools. . The school issue is sad but overblown considering the scope of the problem, whether it is a farmer shooting himself or an inner city teenage being shot in a drive-by. America has to deal with its "freedoms" and independence. I always advocate liberty combined with education but our nation also has a historical aversion to critical thinking and intellectual thought. So what we get is basically a population that is so free it can eat itself to death, while overdosing, and can alway turn to the gun to end its own life or the life of someone it has beef with.

So we know how dangerous they are. What again is it that they help?
Are you asking about my assault car? It is dangerous, so I pay incredibly high insurance due to this. It is not effective transportation as I can only carry one passenger and literally no luggage. But...I like it.

I realize many people die every year due to cars. So, what is your solution for my assault car?

Did this guy have the right weapon or was there a better choice?
