Anyone hear how Jurgens did at 5-star camp?

Didn't hear anything about him, and he's not in any of the videos I've watched. Also saw Ronnie Perkins and Michael Thompson both get handled quite easily in a few clips. Perkins may be too small to play DL, but I still like Thompson's upside.

Doesn't sound like he did much at all. He'll be getting dropped out of the top 100 next re-rankings they have.

I was a little surprised to read that it sounds like Jurgens is going to take a visit to UCLA during his senior season. I assume he signs with Nebraska in the end but thought it was strange.

He mentioned it in some interview I read, but prefaced it by saying he is still coming to Nebraska. I guess you don't like having a commit visiting elsewhere, but this sounds more like he wants a free trip to California.

I've only seen highlights from one camp a month or so ago, but he looks like a big athletic young man with not so great hands when it comes to catching the ball.

We all have days. And like you say they are young; imagine how quick they move through the learning curve when they start catching hundreds, then thousands of practice balls. Add instruction and the talent throwing to that; the athletic and extra-ordinary abilities can kick in. And D gets mentioned for some. How bad would average be at a five star camp, when you are low on training and previous competition levels coming in ?

I don't blame him one bit. Take your trips. IF for some reason he would decide to get away from home and go to a different school so be it. It's a once in a lifetime decision and I would never criticize a kid for wanting to experience something different than where he grew up. Hope he ends up N but he needs to check the world out before he makes up his mind.

Not disagreeing with anything you posted and I am sure he will improve dramatically, but some people are born with "hands" and some are not.

Also, I couldn't care less how he makes the catch as long as he makes the catch.

I am with you - See Westy and those of circus variety. A great young talent that is getting offers. Not sure what the story is here; but someone stated the position coaches are " fighting " over him.

Doubt if he has to worry about catching a ball at Nebraska anyway.

Let the kid take his visits. In the meantime we can be open to other TE recruits that we might evaluate as better prospects. The chances of him going elsewhere or us going in a different direction at TE are small but as long as he is taking other visits the possibility exists.

Couldn't have said it any better.

Can't be mad at a kid for wanting to experience life. Hope he and any other recruit ends up N! Won't be mad if they chose what they think is best for them either.

+1

Likewise I hope NU keeps recruiting TEs and lands a better prospect. Won't be mad if NU chooses what they think is best for them

He'll be taking more than one visit. I bet UCLA OSU among others

Yea he's just taking his visits to get a chance to go see new states that he might never ever get to see, so you can't blame the kid. And no worries guys, he's a Husker and will not sign anywhere else, he's as big as a Husker fan as we are. This is comming from a fellow Beatrice man his self (me). I get the luxury of seeing the kid play every Friday.

If I was 18, still in Nebraska, and had free trips around the country my official visits would be Miami, UCLA, Nebraska, Hawaii, and Arizona State. ASU, Miami, and UCLA for obvious reasons. Hawaii for vacation and Nebraska to confirm my decision. GBR!

I'd take Mississippi State first so I have some walking around money at the other schools.

He will not be visiting OSU unless its Oregon State you're referring to. I have never heard his name mentioned as a possible visitor to Columbus. We are targeting Jeremy Ruckert at TE.
