Anyone else notice all the two TE sets yesterday

We’ve been doing this all 4 games DH has been our OC

Has nothing to do with the WRs. He is giving our OL the help they desperately need with heavy personnel and repeated motion

I don’t know that we’ve protected DR with only 5 (a satt staple) a single time since the USC game

The numbers were much more extreme in the Bowl Game. Previously we ran a lot of 3 WR sets with Barney in the slot. Yesterday Banks had 55 snaps, Barney has 54, and the next highest total for a WR was Bonner with 8.

Haarberg played a lot of that 3rd wide guy in the bowl game

same sets, different personnel

Banks was doing a lot of dirty work in the run game the last 3 games of the reg season

Guys like Haarberg can give an OC a lot of options. If he can put on another 15-20 lbs of muscle and keep his speed he could be a real matchup nightmare.

I need to rewatch it to appreciate all that. I watch it too emotionally in real time.

I didn't even realize we lined up in the I formation at the end until Rhule mentioned it.
It was fun watching Ty bury opposing bystanders on those short yardage plays. I’m sure Dana enjoyed it too. Hopefully he keeps some under center stuff and I formation plays in next year when he installs his own offense. Nothing in “today’s game” is more ridiculous and slow developing than lining up in shotgun on 4th & one and handing off to a RB who isn’t standing upright next to the QB.

A lot of hype for Haarberg at TE (guilty). But check out Luke Lindenmeyer doing work yesterday.

Lindenmeyer is awesome

6th OL we've desperately needed

Dana is smart. recognized where we've struggled immediately (up front, on the perimeter) and did something about it.

just need to get under center a bit more next year and we're off to the races.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see HH come into fall camp at or close to 230lbs

Lindenmeyer looks like a monster to me. Haarberg is a different player but the combo could be really effective. I don't really buy into the talk about HH needing to put on a bunch of weight. I'm sure he'll be working to add a little weight but every TE doesn't need to be 250. He's a hybrid. Anyway, good luck to Boerkircher but I think we're in really good shape in the TE room.

Lindenmeyer is an example of the sort of blocking we saw on our 90s teams. Just physically overpowering opponents. Really impressed with how he's looked with the opportunity he has been given under Dana. Both Lindenmeyer and Bonner were severely mismanaged under Satt's offense.

Isn't that what all million dollar coaches should do. Nevermind.
