Anyone bet on the game last night?

It was a dagger for sure, but if you're a gambler, you've seen worse than that. But it was certainly up for consideration as a really, really, bad beat.

I'm open to hearing worse beats than that. That was really bad. Disclaimer, I don't bet, period.

I think there's a website dedicated to bad beats. A couple that come to mind for me:

Arizona State favored by 11 (when Jake Plummer was their QB). Game goes to OT. No way to cover right? Wrong. They score a TD on opening possession. On opponent possession they intercept a pass and instead of laying down, he returns it for the meaningless 6 points and win by 13.

I will never forget this one...this was back in the old WSEX days.

You could buy shares in a game live. Each share that was in the money at the end of the game was worth $100. I cant remember the teams at all, but I remember the spread was visiting team +5 and the score was like 24 14 with like 45 seconds left, home team had just scored to go up by 10. I buy like 15 shares of the visiting team for like $8 each and sure enough the visiting team goes down and scores with like 2 seconds left. I am estatic, just won 1.4k basically.

So the visiting team onsides kicks....right in the arms of a defender who runs it back untouched to ruin my cover. It was a pro game, right about year 2000 - that was a tough one.

Couple years ago, Ohio State covered on some type of fumble or lateral in the final minute against Northwestern, at Northwestern. I had Ohio State, so I'm even since I had the Redskins on Monday night.

Sadly, they happen every week. Here were ones just from last week alone. Always good entertainment.

2005 Sun bowl, ucla vs nw. nw scored a TD to cover with 2.5 min left. they onside kick, UCLA guy grabs the kick and houses it and now they are covering. NW gets it back and scores with 30 sec left to cover again. they onside again and the same guy for UCLA grabs it and houses it again and they get the cover. I won on that one.

I feel like I remember that game. I want to say it was the NY Giants and Jason Sehorn returned the onside kick for a TD.
