Any Quess who the defensive starter that has to sit the BYU game?

We won't know till game time. Hopeing it won't be a linebacker,obvious because we are so thin at that position.

We have more depth in the secondary maybe we get a break and it's that spot.

Hopefully it's not Collins which I doubt.

We can narrow it down. How many known starters do we have? Gerry, Collins, Valentine, Rose-Ivey, Banderas, Davie, McMullen, Gangwish, and ??? The rest of the spots seem to be open still, unless the news really included projected starters in the speculation. We may not even find out unless it is just painfully obvious.

Jonathan Rose? Really? He's a starter? That's not a problem then if he's the one. I figured he was the one that thought he was a starter but was really 4th on the depth chart. Maybe he'll be better with a simpler scheme, but man it looked to me like he really struggled in coverage last year.

But according to the OWH today McKewon mentions Jonathon Rose and Trai Mosley are battling for the No.2 corners. So I don't think it's him even though he could be on of the 5 suspended players.

That would be tough pill to swallow if it's a linebacker ecspecially if it was Rose -Ivey. I think he is our best linebacker on the team right now.

It doesn't sound like the other 4 are guys that we will notice if they don't play. IMO we'll be fine. Banker and his assistants seem to have developed legitimate competition and depth on defense and it sounds like they've got some guys that can step in a compete with BYU's talent level. Even IF it were Rose-Ivey, I think they've got guys ready that can step in and contain BYU's QB run game.

Yes really. Pretty much everyone, including those on the team, had Rose penciled in as a starter following spring ball. Now, once fall practice starts, he'd down on the depth chart. IMO, that's not a coincidence.

Who's to say how many are on defense or how many on offense, all we know at this time that it is a defensive starter.

Further supporting my guess, he was #1 post spring and started fall practice down on the depth chart.

He's been working exclusively with the 1's so far, can't imagine it's MRI.

Seemed like every time I saw a corner get beaten badly it was J Rose these last two years. Maybe it was because he was thinking instead of moving. He can be replaced IMO.
