There has always been this weird idea that certain states are lame and some are fun.
I know people that by/near the ocean and/or mountains always mention that as their excuse for not attending games or being a fan of sports. But the truth is, for most people that live near that stuff, they don't really "use" it all that much.
They pretend like they will but it ends up being treated like a gym membership...we all have one but 90% of us don't use it.
I grew up near Lake Michigan and probably went to the lake 12 times in my life and that is the same for all my friends, even though we were 20 minutes from it.
Like people in Vegas that live near the strip, they never go unless friends come to visit.
If I lived near the ocean would I go to the ocean more often than I do now? Sure...would it be more than say, 10 times a year, probably not.
