Total Defense:

Northwestern - 394 yards per game allowed.

Oregon - 402 yards per game allowed.

Both teams have faced an FCS team. Oregon won by 35. NW lost by 7.
Both teams have beaten one of the two worst teams in the ACC. Oregon won by 30. NW won by 10 in a close game.
Both teams have faced a top 35 FBS offense.
Oregon lost to Nebraska, from the Big Ten.
NW lost to Western Michigan from the MAC.

I won't try to say Oregon has a good defense. Their secondary is decent, but the rest of that defense is in transition and has issues.

However, there is a perception about NW having a good defense, and yet, they are only allowing 8 less yards per game than the Ducks...

There is a chance of rain on Saturday night in Chicago. Add that to the rainforest grass in their stadium, and the Huskers could be slowed. But this NW team is not even close to their team from last season, statistically and from a personnel standpoint.

If Nebraska doesn't fumble, they roll. I won't even bring up interceptions because NW's pass defense sucks.
